Interesting that Broyles is back at slot receiver.

Kenney and Way are pretty flexible...

8/31/2009, 10:29 AM
thaaaats what i kinda figured with GOOD. hes probably a bigger threat at Guard than center. at least in college. and eldridge brings some leadership at the center position. no matter the size, skill and experience goes a long way to combat the lack of size.

Brown over Murray?

Brown over Murray?

yup. and i agree with it...they are both 1k yard rushers and murray is having issues with injuries. keep him out until it is absolutely needed.

I hope Quinton Carter has a proper indroduction. Just drop by and stay "take that sucker". POW!

I agree with Brown over Murray, for now.. Brown just brings it game in game out and at every practice without sitting out. I'd like to see Murray get 12 carries and 3 or 4 receptions the first 2 weeks. Brown should take the other reps with the first team. Hopefully be the end of next week, Calhoun has 20 carries under his belt as well.

Broyles in the slot??hmmmmm

the other WR's must be looking good?

The backs switch so often that the order doesn't really matter.

The coaches may be thinking of using Brown as the workhorse back, while brining Murray in for the flexibility he brings to the offense.

Either way, my bet is Brown see ~45% of the carries, Murray sees ~40% and the other backs split the remaining 15% (including Madu).

Position update
Wide receiver

Coach Jay Norvell says he's finally sold on Ryan Broyles. But the other positions are still being fought for, and it's likely they will change throughout the season.
Norvell's favorite this week might be sophomore Dejuan Miller.

if DM was 100% healthy I would want him over CB. Both are awesome and we are blessed to have both. I just think DM is amazing when healthy and confident

Don't quite understand listing Good as the back up to Simmons. If he and Jones are battling, shouldn't he be listed behind Jones. I guess he'll play both guard positions. Any thoughts on the two freshmen o-line listed in the depth chart? They aren't our highest rated.

last year during the NCG, Charles Davis mentioned that UF DC Charlie Strong said Demarco Murray not playing in the game would hurt our offense; this coming from an opposing team. Murray is a game changer, and you need those in the big games.

Tyler Evans is said to be doing very well, and was going to get some play this year.

I think there will be plenty of carries for both DM and CB. It will be good for both of them to be able to have each other - not to mention they both have Sam.

I think it's more of a thing to give fans, the team, the coaches, etc. hope that he will be certified.

Or, this is OU reaching back to its roots and giving the NCAA a big ol' middle finger.

Giving birdies to the NCAA: An Oklahoma tradition :D

I think the only thing that we need is our Offensive Line to come together and play as good, or better than the one we had last year and we will be fine. If that happens we should make it to the big game again.

Interesting to not see Granger on the two-deep, what's the scoop? Is his back still not healed?

He will play, but they will limit his snaps in the first few games. Hopefully he will be in pretty good shape when we head down to the Cotton Bowl. He should get around 10-20 snaps a game. He is still trying to get back in shape and back to his old form.

Now that the depth chart is out, should we all adopt a player that we cheer for hardcore on every play?

As far as the RB depth listing goes I figure it is one of those situations that both are the "starter" its a 1A and 1B thing and CB is listed first because they are listed alphabetically. The wr positions don't matter much they have so many different looks that they are pretty much interchangeable out there.
