Saw this on the tube today. Anyhow, if you want a pre-cursor to the outcome of the RRS (if recent history is any indicator), check out the FSU-Miami game, & as much as it'll make you hold your nose, be pulling for the 'canes to win it. The last time that FSU won that game in a year that OU won the RRS was the massive upset in '96.
FSU-UM results (regular season only)
1997- FSU 47 UM 0 (UT beat OU)
1998- FSU 26 UM 14 (UT beat OU)
1999- FSU 31 UM 21 (UT beat OU)
2000- UM 27 FSU 24 (OU beat UT)
2001- UM 49 FSU 27 (OU beat UT)
2002- UM 28 FSU 27 (OU beat UT)
2003- UM 22 FSU 14 (OU beat UT)
2004- UM 16 FSU 10 (OU beat UT)
2005- FSU 10 UM 7 (UT beat OU)
2006- FSU 13 UM 10 (UT beat OU)
2007- UM 37 FSU 29 (OU beat UT)
2008- FSU 41 UM 39 (UT beat OU)
Cue Twilight zone music.....:D

If the Hurricons beat Free Shoes U, I am going to BTF (bet the farm) on OU to beat UT. Thanks for the heads up. :)
This is kind of like the Lincoln-Kennedy coincidences....

While the trend is your friend, every trend must end. :D
It wouldn't have worked that way the previous 7 years before the list above was compiled, and I have to imagine it's 50/50 in the decade before and prior.
1996 - OU/Fla St
1995 - OU-UT tie/Fla St
1994 - Tex/Thug U
1993 - OU/Fla St
1992 - Tex/Thug U
1991 - Tex/Thug U
1990 - Tex/Thug U

Damn.....seems that the teams actually have to play each other and determine a winner on the field again. Dang it.
P.S. Sorry Texas.....the winner of a single game does not instantly propel you to a CCG.
Hey....blame it on Blake Gideon, not us.

Personally I wish they could both lose.

Interesting that the trend was reversed over those previous seven years rather than random . . .

I guess I am a Miami Duck fan(they call their mascot an ibis but it looks like a duck to me) other than when we kick their butts.

thUg is one KO shot to their QB from putting the towel boy under center. I will be rooting for thUg, but I will need to take a shower afterward.

I hope this trend is dead, Florida State will win.

It would help our SOS for Miami to win, but it's hard for me to care. The thing favoring Miami is that Bowden usually has to have twice as good a team as Miami to win otherwise the Canes own him.

Except for those years when both teams combined to score less than 28 or so points. Those were painful to watch.

Since the 'canes won, you can extend this subject a couple of years. The last time Miami beat FSU & UT beat OU in the same year was when Allen got stopped on the goalline in '94.

Good news for RRS, bad news for our trip to Miami. I'm pretty concerned about the Miami game now.
