Considering the BCS does favor mid-majors for big bowls nowadays but discredits them for the national title game, do you think it's fair that there should be 2 Divisions in the Football Bowl Subdivision? Why have programs like UTAH and BOISE winning over top tier 1A programs but being screwed for the national title?

Boise State clearly had a nice overall resume to be national champions in 2006 which included a win over a 10 win Oregon State which handed USC its only loss for the season.

Clearly UTAH deserved the national title more in 2008 with big wins over TCU, BYU and a 12 win Alabama in their premier bowl game.

So, if the BCS and the Polls don't want to include mid-majors in the NC discussion, why are they in the FBS? IMO...if you are not in 1AA then you are in the premier MAJOR division of college football.

The same goes for Heismans nowadays. Sure, there will be a finalist from a mid-major but you will never see a player from a MM win it again. It hasn't happened since Detmer (BYU) in 1990.

Excluding Detmer (90) and Ware (89), there hasn't been a mid major Heisman winner since Staubach in 1963.
