Thanks...but I dunno about the growing up part ;) :P

I'll get my 2 weeks r/r then another 2 weeks of leave to take the missus on a much-promised (and hyped) vacation. Needless to say that the missus is highly anxious to go...but she just wants me home first. I should be landing in OKC around 1730 this evening.

Curacao is probably one of the best deployments in the military...but it was still four months of solid work for me being on staff (and not a vacation like I'm sure a lot of people think)...and my sleep cycle is shot to hell (which is why I'm up right now). In fact, in some ways, it was worse being down here than it would've been had I been with the rest of my squadron in the sandbox. But I had one incredibly awesome staff and leadership to work with...and I thank God every day that I got to work with the kickass crews as well, cause they made this less of a headache than I anticipated. Other than the fact I miss my wife badly, I absolutely LOVED doing my job here.

Alas, next time I probably have to deploy will be during next year's football season...so I'm gonna miss the freaking Air Force game  But hey, at least I get to put on O-3 in the middle of it...and if I'm in the desert, it's a tax free pay raise!

The fact that I don't know EVERYTHING about the E-3 yet...that I'm not an INav yet...that I'm still a LT...that I haven't started my Masters (hopefully in January)...

I could go on, but I'm sure you'd get bored. For some reason, whenever I start talking, I lose total track of time.

Now, its good the boy is home safe. But, before we go all "hail the conquering hero" and stuff...he was in Curucao for crying out loud. As in the Caribbean vacation spot. Sleeping in a bed with sheets, with innerwebs, fine dining, alcohol, cable, golf, snorkling and casinos. And nary a round fired in his general direction. ;)

Moreover, knowing him, I bet he flew his wife over a time or two.

I knew you would opine this way...and most people do when they find out I've been in Curacao. I don't care...I did my job to the absolute best of my abilities...did everything asked of me and more...and had a great experience.

But no...it has been four months without the wife...and now that I'm home, she's gonna be clinging to me for the next four weeks til I have to go back to work.
