I've thought about that a fair amount. Specifically why it occurs so frequently nowadays. I'm thinking, for starters, maybe it did happen a fair amount, but in the pre-innerweb era, we didn't learn about it. Also, I think some of it is attributable to the fact modern young wimmens are comfortable initiating seckshual liaisons, where before, not so much.
