Mine seem to change daily...A few weeks ago it was the special teams and offensive line. I have always been concerned with the difficult schedule. However, as of the last couple of days I have a new leader. My concerns today are as follows:

1. Linebackers - Injuries
2. Offensive Line - Inexperienced
3. Special teams - Killed us a yr ago
4. Schedule - Some tough road games
5. Receivers - Not a real concern...

My list would be the same as CBUS posted. The loss of Balogun really raised my concerns about the linebacker situation, hope RR can have a good and healthy season. Specail teams have to be better, don't think they could get much worse than last year. Hope to see some receivers step up and catch those great passes Sam will be throwing. And not on the list, but something I have thought about is consistency in the kicking game.

1. Inexperience at safety
2. Depth at linebacker
3. Run blocking (if the new o-line can't do this, the O is in big big trouble.)
4. How I'm going to pay for game and flight tickets to Pasadena

1. The Venables defensive schemes/play calling/adaptation when it matters the most
2. Breaking the bowl game losing streak
3. Injuries, especially towards the end of the season
4. The offensive line
5. Stopping the short passing game from McCoy/Texas
6. Miami and Nebraska

1. O Line gelling
2. Injuries (DM, RR, Habern, Wort, Box, Granger, English, Lepak)
3. Kicking game (new punter, inconsistent kicker, shotty KO coverage)
4. The annual "let down" game where we play below OUr potential

I think that the first, third, and fourth can all be handled by coaching and player prep. The injuries are the thing that really nobody can predict. The best you can do is what the coaches are doing now- cross training players on other positions. Having Eldridge and Good practice at center, and having multiple people rotate through at the Mike position can help mitigate impacts.

1. Thinking that good teams are cup cakes, (BYU, Miami, Tech) and getting upset. Many posters on this board think will beat BYU by 30 or more. I wish the attitude was BYU will be a very tough game at it will a signifcant victory when we win. We will be up for the Texas, OSU and Nebbish. What I worry about are good teams, not the great teams that have a chance for an upset.
2. Depth in the secondary. Any more injuries and we will be in serious trobuble.
3. The O line will be fine by Mid-season--but how fast they gel will be the question.
4. In January do I drive to OKC and then take a charter to Pasadena or do I just fly South West Airlines out of Houston to LA and rent a car?

Offensive Line vs texas

I see you point here, but as I said in another thread, they are going to have a much harder time replacing Orakpo than we will replacing OUr guys on the O-Line. He was a game-changer that made his whole defense look better than they actually were. They don't have a guy who has his motor, and is as strong and fast. He's now doing what he did to us to NFL linemen. He also allow them to be versatile, because he could play DE, OLB, and DT, if needed. For us, I could see Beal doing the same thing this year, but for the Whorns, Acho and Okafor are not going to do the same things for than D that Orakpo did. Just look at the Tech game. He was out/injured in that game, and they lost (which many in the media seem to forget). For us, when Duke went out, we brought in Simmons, and we didn't miss a beat.

We have plenty of experience at LB. My only concern is the o-line gelin', but Spud St will take care of that.

I'm not going to worry about a thing until about 5 minutes into the BYU game when I find out what kind of team we will be this year.

#1 - More whining and crying from OU Fans about Coach Stoops...
#2 - Injuries
#3 - O-State fans that are just now coming out of the woodwork and talking trash like they have already beat us in Norman. I am concerned because if they do trash talk, I am likely to end up in prison. And prison would suck for two obvious reasons...one being anal rape...and two would be wearing an ORANGE Jumpsuit!!!!!!!!
