ESPN is gonna have to give Kiper a stern talking too...no Tebow. :P

They already discussed it on College Football Live today; Rod Gilmore thinks Tebow is going to be in the top 25 by season's end.

I'm surprised ESPN hasn't gone berserk over Bobby Bowden's comments concerning Charlie Ward and Tim Tebow. (http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/orl-sportsfsu-beat-19081909aug19,0,3040046.story)

They also have Ole Miss' Snead over Colt.

Curly Bill
8/20/2009, 08:02 PM
I think Colt is too high at 11. I haven't seen the arm strength outta him that the NFL guys like.

Curly Bill
8/20/2009, 08:05 PM
I'm gonna say if they don't get hurt, all four of our listed guys go ahead of Tebow and Colty.

You can book that! ;)

I don't see Colt going before Jermaine. Nope, don't see it. No way. His arm is suspect, he's a "project qb" at just over 6'1. If he's that tall.

sooneron
8/20/2009, 08:31 PM
We'll see if Kindle can reproduce last season without Orakpo being the force on the DL.

sooneron
8/20/2009, 08:32 PM
How tall is Snead? Eli is is 6'4+.

JLEW1818

u don't ever know until the combine.. haha

Snead is 6'3 i would say

No way Colt McCoy goes in top 25.....Really ? Don't you have to be able to get the ball to the sideline ?

depends who all wants QB's

sooneron
8/20/2009, 08:47 PM
Colt is a good college qb, but if he goes in the first round, I'll send a Lobel's steak sandwich from Yankee Stadium to any takers.

I actually kinda like this, and I'm definately not a big Kiper fan.

If J Clausen had a good year, he'd go ahead of Colt. And whoever usc has on the bench with 20 min of game experience would go ahead of Colt.

Clausen could.. i doubt he leaves tho... ND will prlly win 9 games this year... which will mean in 2010 they will have "somewhat" of a national title shot

Or that Weis may drop dead at the cheese fry station at Red Robin following their big bowl win- so, he leaves...

i dunno i think you guys might be underrating mccoy. i used to think the same thing. but i've never seen a throw from mccoy like tebow's first INT to nic harris where the ball just floats and you think to yourself, no way this guy can play in the NFL.

Right, but I've never seen him gun a pass 20 - 25 yds downfield that made me say, "Holy crap, this kid has the skillz" either.

We're talking EARLY first round according to Mel, here. I just don't see it.

there will be a Flaco type guy this year.... he's somewhere in Michigan?? whats his name?

Yep, we're talking the nfl here and the way that they grade a qb. Having a kid that will tuck the ball with both hands and put his head down is romantic in college, but it isn't what makes the scouts jizz in their drawers come April. They like size, arm strength, vision THEN the intangibles. Colt would need to have monster season- better than Sam's last year for the franchises to look at giving him 8 figures right off the bat. I'm not knocking Colt, he's good, but the pros are a different type of ballgame. Look at how well Alex whatshisname has panned out for SF.

23. Sergio Kindle, LB, Texas: Production finally matched his talent last season.

If by "talent," he means "texting"...and by "production," he means "home redecoration by Jeep," then yah...he's pretty accurate.

I very much believe this Tebow nonsense will pass. Good lord. He is a great player. The "best"? I don't even know what that means. Charlie Ward could run and pass pretty darn good too, in my opinion...and I'm not really sure how to compare them. Frankly, I think my current girlfriend is a hell of a lot "better" than my last girlfriend. Ask me again in a year or two.

soonerfan28
8/21/2009, 11:17 AM
I'm shocked he didn't have Tebow as an H-back.

ouleaf
8/21/2009, 02:04 PM
Not sure about Berry at No. 2 either. He's pretty solid, but I doubt that a team in position to pick No. 2 next year will have a Safety as their primary need.

JLEW1818
8/21/2009, 02:06 PM
correct... but he's just saying these are the "best" players in "his" order...

say the Lions get last again, obviously they will not take Bradford.

keep an eye on this guys mock... and mess around on the his website, pretty good stuff..

That is hilarious about your girlfriends.... Every time I see Tebow it just gags me. Other than maybe someone like Tyler Hansbrough, Christian Laettner or Bryant Reeves, I have never wanted to see someone graduate so bad.

The only way Colt goes that high is if the same team drafts Shipley. Like I have said man times, Texas has two plays: hot read to Shipley, and the 5-wide QB draw. Nobody in the NFL runs either of those plays.
