sweaty keyboard player in the zebra shirt is all kinds of awesome on backgrounds vocals.

He doesn't really look like I had imagined him to look.

ugh.. can't stand him. He's from Pittsburgh, so they play that song on the radio here constantly!

I have the 45 rpm record of Ah! Leah! . . .

That had to be the encore of his concert. And prolly the first six or seven songs too.

Man.....that was pathetic.

I can actually picture former Gov. Rod Blagoyavich channeling Iris as he was doing some early morning air vocals before heading off to the State Capitol.

"I see your lips and I wonder who's been kissing them"

This guy was full of smash one-liners.....

pretty much every rock sing is a footnote to Steve Mariott and Humble Pie: 30 days in the hole.

I remember Donnie Iris from his days with Wild Cherry. He doesn't look like much of a rocker, though.

That recording rules.

Having said that, the youtube advert on the screen says:

Watch Depression Videos:

Why in teh world would I want to do that? :(

no clue. i saw Judas Preist cover 30 Days in the Hole at the Lloyd Noble Center....early-mid 80's.

it was pretty badass.

i like the LP cover in that says: one eyed trouser-snake rumba....in snaskrit or something.

I still think he looks like the long-lost Hansen Brother from "Slap Shot".

ditto. You're lack of musical snobbery on this shocks me, King. ;)

you are just lucky i don't snob out with a bunch of Arthur Lee threads. but, you got me all wrong. i did DL a bunch of Bela Bartok the other day.

and, actually, Priest didn't cover 30 days....it was the opening act: Kick Axe. not sure how i got that wrong. was probably drunk when i posted it. Humble Pie's Town and Country is a pretty solid LP. that and Soft Machine are pretty nice in the genre. Amazingly, Andy Summers was in both the Animals and Soft Machine before the Police. Soft Machine are also the band on Syd Barrett's Madcap Laughs.

Oh Idunno, there are plenty of other non-commies who don't like Donnie Iris's "Ah Leah". Like, for instance....

Jeffrey Dahmer.

I did not know that.

Kinda like Lowell George playing with Mothers of Invention, seems like a strange combo.

What would be some good guitar based songs to play during high school basketball games? I am sick of hearing the same ones over and over. Any suggestions?
