View Full Version : Do any ofthe LB's redshirt?

You have Tom Wort, Ronnell Lewis and Jaydan Bird that are true freshmen and I can't see any of them RSing this year. According to the depth chart you have Reynolds in the middle backed up Balogun, but that will probably be Box. Then you have Keenan Clayton at the SLB backed up by JR Bryant and at the WLB you have Travis Lewis backed up by Jaydan Bird.

These are all from the depth chart that was updated over a month ago, so it's kind of guessing at this point. We have 5 seniors in that 2-deep, so getting field time for underclassmen will be critical. Even if they don't play on the defense I think it's still important to get players like Wort, R. Lewis, Bird and Franklin on the field. It can't hurt on kick coverage for sure.

The most likely to get redshirted would probably be Lewis and Bird. Remember they wait until the end of the season to redshirt, so I think Bird will be the only one to get redshirted.

R. Lewis might play an R.J. Washington role, don't play him unless you have to

now R.J will is a RS Freshman

We won't need either of them, so I say don't play them unless we have too and then redshirt them after the season.

I say we play the ones with strong NFL potential. History has shown that it is a crap shoot whether or not these guys will stay 4 years, let alone 5. If the coaches see a freakish athlete that they feel could be an early entrant type of player, put them on special teams and let them be a backup.

Yep, he will get some snaps at middle linebacker also.

Will he redshirt? I don't think so, we need him next year at fullback and I believe he is a junior, not a senior.

No offense to Crow, but he probably isn't the D-1 talent they thought he was. He had his chance to shine and didn't perform. He now has 3 true frosh who are probably more talented then him.

Yep, lets hope he has better luck getting on the field as a fullback.

I heard he's already starting to fill out. The dude is a headhunter and if he can get to 225 he'll be an All-American.

Add at a nice quality university to that. He is a lucky kid.
