He dropped the suit because there are about 8 different articles out there discussing his fine play for that semi pro team after he was 21. Basically, because he was full of crap. I guess OU's compliance department can't manage a simple Google search.

It isn't just one article. There are several. They discuss his play in detail. I am a lawyer and the affidavits submitted by his lawyer had so much wiggle room that they are worthless.

BS! Not one article I have found says he played after 21! Go back to your hole!

Just read the links in this Blog. You can discount the commentary all you want, but follow the links. Obviously, Balogun got caught otherwise he would not have dropped his lawsuit.

That league has been known not to change they're rosters so they just change over to the next year.

Jock...yer a joke. This article is written by a well known hornfans poster and commented on by a boat load more.

Brilliant internet hearsay aside, the NCAA just needs to say yes or no on this. It really shouldn't be this damn hard to make a decision on the guy.

yep, after reading some of that, it does not look good. it's one thing to be listed on a roster and another to read about fumbles recovered, etc.

Balogun can sue the NCAA and win, but if OU played him and the NCAA later won an appeal we would have to forfeit any wins we had with him

i don't think that is correct. They said it was alright, so he played. They can't go back and punish us for playing him when they said it was ok.

Why wouldn't you kick the ball to the one that's tired and sucking wind?

Did Balogun ever file an appeal against the NCAA? IF he truly didn't play Semi-Pro football after his 21st Birthday, it would seem he would have a class of action against the NCAA.

The way Mike's lawyer rolled over and gave up makes me believe there was no case. We may actually owe FSU a thanks on this one. If Mike really did lie on these documents and it wasn't caught until later, we could have been looking at forfeits and sanctions. And it *would* have been caught since all FSU did was follow-up on a comment made during the NC game. FSU was just looking for a similar situation for one of their own players while I'm sure some orange or burnt orange alum would have blown the whistle after the fact.
