a state of The South or a Southwestern state?

I think it's a SW state...was always taught that it was. I don't know why people associate it as being a part of the South.

It's certainly not southwestern culturally. It's southern to the extent that it's full of DINOs, but that's about it. It's not southwestern, it's not really southern, it's not midwestern...it's none of the above.

I hear Texas is full of lots of FREDS and BARNEYS.

When I still lived in Oklahoma it was a constant state of intoxication.

You all saw that coming didn't you?

No way is Oklahoma a midwestern state, geographically or otherwise. Unless you're one of those snobby twits that calls everything west of New Jersey and east of Reno "the midwest" aka "flyover country".

No kidding. Once again, Oklahoma is in Region 5.

Its tough. Eastern ok is like a southern state(even though we were still indian territory in civil war), northern and northwest is plains, and southwest is very... southwest.

Are you saying southerners are rednecks and yankees are not? ;-)

I now strive to be as redneck as I am able to be. I rebelled against it, but I am returning to my white trash roots. Therefore I have no problem calling anyone a redneck.

Oklahomans resemble more of the midwest culture than anything, but definitely not the south. The Southerners are definitely into the "South will rise again" mentality and civil war collectibles. Big difference.
