Kicking game. Is the kid from Norman North going to be our field goal kicker?

The long snaps on punts also seems to be an area of concern.

Our kick off team hopefully will not let any teams return the KO for a TD.

Hopefully DeMarco will be ready for action against BYU.

At one point last year I was afraid one of the radio sponsors was going to contribute $100 to charity with each touchdown scored on OUr kick return team . . .

That's the one thing I am waiting to see is the coverage.

I think last year for some reason we just went stupid on that but think this year that won't a issue.......(with fingers crossed)

Well sh!t, with all this talent stockpiled that we're worrying about giving adequate playing time, can't we get these speedy, strong and awesome guys on the field for some kickoffs?

I'll just be happy not to miss like 12 extra points or whatever ridiculous number it was last season.

I can say that special teams coverage is about assignments and of course technique, but it's largely about mindset. Russ Dennison is a family friend and he talked about this last year with my cousin. He said the reason he was successful on spec teams was the fact he said he's going down there with the intent that someone is getting hurt. Whether it's him, the return man, or a blocker. I think with the new, nasty attitude our team has, this may be the approach they take. At least I hope so

I was about to bring up Russell D..and say we need more ST players like him and Gute...guys with the right mindset...Going in and busting things up..

Watching these guys last year, they would get down close to making a play and they would stop before taking on a blocker..no wedge breakers...

It also helps any ST unit to kick the ball beyond the 22 for best coverage results.

The Parrish Cox return- 90 yards
The Gilyard Return- 97 yards
The Shipley Return- 96 yards
The Gray Return- 98 yards

Not saying he didn't short leg some kicks, but....

If Jaz is as speedy as the preseason hype says he is, could he return kicks?

The shorter the kick the easier the coverage.

Maybe, we will see C. Kenney returning before Jaz. Franks and Broyles have the job to lose.

Cam can punt too

Ok, they are talking how great this guy can punt the ball. Why not have a fake threat in position at all times... so the fake will work when needed? I know I'm talking crazy... C. Kenney at WR/Punter/Returner. The guy hasn't even stepped on the field as a Sooner yet. Again, newcomer of the year?

could be... hell we might need to try something crazy this year.

Done, I'm going to call Stoops right now to let him know what we have decided.

I'm pretty sure the short kicks were on purpose. Short and high to help the coverage get there.

I don't know if he's sturdy enough to return kicks. He looks scrawny in practice vids.
