What I can guarantee is that he is a Sooner. What I can not guarantee is when exactly he will commit. My guess is soon. Either way he is going to commit to us.

His highlights are sick. And he has a perfect frame. If we pull him and White and/or Prater... that is one sick set of receivers down the road.

Your correct, but you didn't know that he was going to commit soon...
There have been rumors that McCay is close to committing to OU for a while now. He is big time and would be an outstanding pickup for OU if he indeed does pull the trigger for OU in the near future.

He is still "open" to Kansas State and only to Kansas State. I expect he will stay with us though. His newly formed relationship with Brennan Clay should be important. He called Brennan before he committed.

5 star pickup on Scout, they have him as the 8th rated recruit in the Nation. I watched his highlights - believe it or not, I think he looks better as a Royback. He is real agressive on Defense.
I suppose he is definitely a WR for us though.

Welcome McCay! Man we got Atheletes and Speed who can play either side of the ball coming in and fill several needs. Reminds me of some of Blakes personnel.

From what I've seen, ESPN has hands-down the worst ratings compared with scout and rivals. I don't even bother reading that stuff for the most part.
McCay is easily one of the top 50 players in the country. ESPN having him at # 143 is plain silly.

...and all of them put together aren't especially accurate -- predicting what HS players are going to be studs in college is way difficult. Same as predicting what college players will succeed in the pros.

I'm not, tempting as that may be.
Look at any of the Rivals Top 100 lists for however long they'e been doing them, and see how many of those players actually amounted to anything. Look at their 5-star picks, supposed surefire can't miss prospects, and see how many of them were surefire busts.

Pretty much completely agree. I've seen some crazy good rankings by rivals, though. Some of those basketball rankings have had almost dead on top 10s.
But yes, they are all far from accurate.

The Athlon 100 is a good place to see all the recruiting rankings averaged out. The thing I like is that they toss the 143 ranking from ESPN for McCay, which averages him out as the 31st best player in the country.
