So on this article on ESPN stating the top 12 most obnoxious fans in college football by fan poll (OU was #4. BS) anyways, somebody made this comment when talking about Texas fans:

"True story...(BTW..I love this story!!!)
Year 2003 or 2004. Colorado vs. Texas. Texas beating Colorado pretty bad. Texas fans are harassing the Colorado band for sometime even though UT is winning.
Texas just weeks before was beaten again by OU.
Colorado band, decides to strike back at the UT fans. What do they do? They start playing BOOMER SOONER...BOOMER SOONER.
I was told you could hear a pin drop in that stadium.

i have heard this multiple times, but it seems like i also heard it was BS

and it was 2000 or 2001 that it was supposed to have happened

It allegedly happened in 2001. I've heard this too often for it not to have at least a little bit of truth to it, because the story always mentions Colorado's band @ Austin after the RRS. I think it was 2001, because Texas won 41-7, the game was in Austin and Colorado was supposed to be good that year (remember, they won the conference because Texas sucked up the Big 12 game, whoopsies, no Rose Bowl for you...yet)

The Big 12 game was a revenge game... that Nebraska should have been in, but they lost to Colorado. Ahh, the Big 8 must have been fun times.
