In addition to OU -21 v. BYU some other early lines are:

OSU -3 v. Georgia
Bosie State -5 v. Oregon
Fla. State -3 v. Miami
Alabama -4 Va. Tech

The most interesting is Alabama only being a 4 point favorite versus Va. Tech.

thanks for posting this...

week 1 bets are always risky.. since you have nothing but a magazine to go by.

I might mess around with Oregon + the points.... Boise State lost a lot.... and I'm jumping on Florida State -3 as soon as it comes out...

Alabama lost their top linemen from a year ago and their 4-year starter at QB. The word from my friends in Alabama is that QB Greg McElroy is a year away from being any good.

Without a good line and a good QB, you can forget about Julio Jones ever getting the ball. That drastically changes how teams play them. Their defense will be good, but they will have a real hard time scoring points. They will struggle, especially early.

You didn't indicate which was which but 'Bama is the only one of the minuses playing on the road . . .

Does Alabama have that QB w/a girls name? I thought he was highly recruited 2 years ago.

Not a site--Actual paper--USA Today Sports Section August 6, 2009.

Today, USA has the top three pre-season rankings: UF, UT, & OU.

Try, www.usatoday.com or google it.

Bama is playing in Atlanta, that's like playing Notre Dame in Rome.
