View Full Version : SF.com 2009 Tailgate Announcement

It's on. We've got the Casa Blanca parking lot again, I've already got the porta-turlets reserved, and momma is working out the menus as we speak.

For those that are new, or have never attended, the SF.com tailgates are first and foremost for Sooner fans and their friends and families who like to party a little and hang out pre and post OU football games. We've got the flat screen, high def, satellite, NCAA package going, different food selections from game to game, lots of beer, soft drinks, and some likker for those who partake in that sorta thing. Shade, turlets, and we're conveniently located only a block or two north of the stadium on the corner of Jenkins and Boyd in the parking lot on the west side of the Casa Blanca building - less than a block from Campus Corner.

Everyone is invited. Don't be shy, come on by. It's all good, and it's all free for Sooners, visiting fans from other teams, and their friends/families. All we ask is that if you come by and partake that you leave a little sumpin sumpin in the milk jar by the TV.

Of course we couldn't put on this shindig without the generous contributions we receive from tailgate sponsors and offering parking spots at the tailgates. So, this is where I pimp sponsorships and parking.

If you or some of your friends want to sponsor a game you may do so for only $300. If you have a business you'd like to advertise by sponsoring that'd be cool too. One of the benefits of sponsorship is a free season parking pass.

If you want to purchase a season parking pass at the tailgate you may do so for only $90. That's $15 per game. We also offer very limited (if we have any spots leftover) game-day parking for $20 per game. You can save $5 by buying a season pass.

Finally, please purchase raffle tickets from Homey either on-line or at the tailgates themself. The whole raffle deal has allowed us to offer an upgraded beverage selection (imported beers, 6-point beer, etc.) and helps defray the cost of renting the parking lot, turlets, etc.

To sponsor a game or purchase parking all you have to do is send a PM to me and I'll give you the address to send the $$ to, and we'll mail your parking pass to you. It's as easy as that.

Let's make 2009 special. I think we'll be witnessing a Sooner team work it's way to Pasadena and another shot at the NC. Join us as we start the season-long celebration on September 12.

Any Plans for BYU???

Probably not - unless somebody wants to rent a tailgate spot and put one on. I'm staying at a hotel about a half-mile away, but I ain't shelling out the bucks for tailgate parking and then also having to haul enough beer/likkr/food for everybody. I will partake if you want to put one on though.

I think we have Baylor finalized. We are going to Lincoln, too. I may squeak in a game myself for kicks... Maybe lame-o Idaho State just for the tailgaiting and some time away from work.

Update:

We've got 3 games sponsored so far, and we need folks to step up for the other 3. We've still got several parking spots left, but they tend to go fast right before the season starts. So, if you're thinking about sponsoring or purchasing a parking spot it's time to step up.

TIA.

Tailgate update:

Alright folks, I know we've still got a couple weeks to go before the home opener, but I am getting a wee bit concerned.

So far, we've got 3 1/2 games sponsored. That means we're still looking for folks to step up and sponsor the other 2 1/2 games.

Remember, a $300 sponsorship gives you a season parking pass, and a clear conscious to eat/drink/be merry at the tailgates without chipping in on the milk jug. It's a bargain.

We've sold several parking passes, but we've still got some left. If you're thinking about parking at the tailgate you need to get after it and let me know.

So, if you'd like to continue enjoying the upgraded tailgates, please try to help out. If you've never attended one, this year would be a good year to start.

Send me a peem if you're interested in sponsorship or parking ASAP.

Alright boys and girls. We're a week out, and we still need one more tailgate sponsor. We also have a couple parking spaces left. If anyone is interested, now would be a good time to bust a move.

Many thanks to the folks who've already stepped up on sponsorship. It is because of you that we are able to keep this monstrosity rolling.

Hey Dean,

Has it been posted anywhere what the menu will be for Saturday's (ISU)game? Wanted to see if you need me to bring anything? My dad, and my youngest son and I will be there.

C&CDean
9/8/2009, 02:07 PM
OK, here's this week's tailgate schedule/menu:

0930 - 1200 is tailgate set up. If you want to help, show up during this timeframe.

1200 - 1400 is final set up, fine tuning, etc. If you wanna show up during this timeframe, there will be iced-down beer, drinks, etc, but the food won't be ready yet. You also stand a good chance of being put to work by the tailgate nazi.

1400 - 1700 will be the actual tailgate. Food, beer, booze, soft drinks, TV, etc.

This week's menu is the annual first tailgate tradition:

Burgers, dogs, Slovacek sausage wraps, chips, beans, brownies, etc. If you'd like to bring something to eat, desserts, whores deorves, snack food, etc. is always appreciated.

Homey will be there with the raffle items for you to view. Please purchase tickets as these proceeds help make the quality tailgates possible. There is a milk jar by the TV for donations, which are gladly accepted.

His/hers porta-turlets will be there, and if you want a single game parking spot they are $20 per spot. You must get day-of-game parking from the tailgate nazi. If you decide to purchase a season parking pass, you may do so from the nazi at the tailgate. They are $90 ($15 per game). Also, everyone leaves their keys on the keyboard when going to the game. That way if there's an emergency, we can get folks in/out.

If there's something I missed, or if you have any further questions, speak up.

1. This is Norman, OK, USA, not Dallas, TX, Obama Nation.

2. We have people who stay at the tailgate throughout the game.

3. The O-line knows how to block. What they don't know how to do is wait until the ball is snapped to do it.

They got me good in Dallas, Grapevine actually. Didn't even know til I got home and some hidden items were gone. Then noticed some damage to the door lock. Lost my travel companion of 15 years. Now have to shop for a new one.

Ok everyone Dean is out of town and Mrs. Dean asked me to post.

She has all the food and beverages cover for the gate, but there are a few things that if brought would make the experience even better.

We could use a vegetable and dip tray, and deserts.

All other food items you would like to bring are welcome.

Thanks

If we don't make it in time to help, it's because his super-awesome parking pass didn't work on Gameday and I had to drag my broken knees about an extra mile. See ya there. No Crown, please. :D

We had a tailgate? Damn, I missed it...

Just pulled in from the road. We had a ball hunting in Colorado. No elk, but lots of mule deer. We've got meat for the OSU chili.

Here's this week's schedule:

Chicken. A buttload of chicken strips from Chicken Express in Norman. If you haven't tried them, you pretty much oughta. I ain't a chicken strip kinda guy, but the ones there are pretty dang good. We've also got some wings coming. We'll have different sauces/dips, etc. Beans, cole slaw, and some fixins'.

Food should be out around 11ish. We'll be setting up around 0900, if anyone feels the need to help out.

If you'd like to help out with grub, your favorite munchie, whores dorves, or desserts are always welcome.

Also, Mrs. Dean would like to personally thank the following losers for their dedication and devotion during this past week's rainout (it was about 68 and sunny at 10K feet in Colorado) for their help this past week:

Doleo. What a stud. Boy couldn't spell his way out of a wet paper sack, but he's one hell of a hand. Mrs. Dean says I should be worried...

John and Aileen. Somebody has to cook the ****ing meat.

Stoop Troup and his lovely bride. Boy brought the poison, girl brought the skillz.

Emily. Soonermagicgirl. What a princess.

Homey and the lovely Ms. Delayne/Delaine (nobody knows how you South Carlolina folks spell ****). I'm not quite sure how a ****er as ugly as you could end up with a wife as gorgeous as yours, but congrats my brother.

bri. For a homosexual, momma says you're quite the man.

BFS. Better late than never ****er.

Phil's Aggie Bride. Leslie my love, you done good. Mrs. Dean says the TV got all jacked up cause you and the HMFIC had the porno lock on...

Thanks girl.

Phil and Peggy. As always, you guys rock.

I'm sure there's others. They're probably still trying to dry out their panties. Did I mention it was dry in Colorado...

Anyhow, thanks, and I'll see you miscreants this weekend...
