$99.00.

I got my tickets through StubHub. My tickets are together, and in the upper deck. Sure, I paid through the nose (but not too much more than the athletic department), but at least I know WHERE my tickets are (i am going to go INSANE until they are delivered).

Methinks he anticipates another hot ticket like OU-Tech was this past season?

To be fair to Joe C., the OSU game in Boone Pickens last year cost whatever a season ticket costs... which was probably a lot more than $99.

8/3/2009, 12:14 PM
joe could charge $1000/ticket and we'd still fill the stadium. osu can't give tickets away in order to fill the stadium.

What does that have to do with anything? And being compared to O-State is not exactly the company we're trying to keep.

I'm going to go look at my tickets from 2005 and see how much inflation we've sat through.

Only compared to them because they're the opponent. If it was the A&M game getting the prices jacked up, I probably would have made an A&M comparison.

Chill jlew... this is the football board. If you want uncivilized discourse, there's several options on South Oval right now.

He's actually right... OSU has absolutely nothing to do with anything football-related.

It's simple economics, there is a huge demand for OU tickets, for O-State--not so much.

Yea, but they don't teach economics at osu. That's why they jack up prices for an inferior product.

If you want to see a real jump the season ticket price from 2000 to 2001 almost doubled. It was a good thing I was seated when I opened my renewal letter that year.

Sooner24
8/3/2009, 02:07 PM
I realize that it's been many moons since 1972 but the entire cost of two seats for entire season in 72 was $75.00. Six games @ $6.00 each times two plus $3.00 shipping. What is the shipping now on season tickets, something like $20 or $25? For that kind of money Joe C. should hand deliver them.

Sooner04
8/3/2009, 02:09 PM
Price of success, I suppose. Did you read down at the bottom of this year's tickets? We're being charged per game the following:

$10.50 - Capital Improvements
$5.00 - Academic Enhancement

$15.50 a pop. Multiply that by 85,000 and that's $1,317,500. Multiply THAT by six and it's $7,905,000 for the season. That's a lot of jack.

Oh well. Price of success. I should get a 10% discounts on my tickets for sitting through home games during the Blake Era. Sheesh.

10%!?!?

How about a free year since we also went to the wonderful Kansas game and a few Texas games I would rather forget.

Mine should be here today. Mail doesn't run until around three. They started the Academic Enhancement in 2002 or 2003 because David Boren said we should be happy to help academics. I don't remeber what year the capital improvments was tacked on there.

Those days of Aggie football seem like a lifetime ago.

As for ticket prices .... it sucks. A&M is the same way ... arm and a leg per game. $100 isn't far off from any of our conference games.

I would b!tch on others' behalves if I thought that the college ticket was becoming a rich person's game like the Neffel in some regards.

I am just not sure if this is one of those situations, because I've scalped many tickets for under face value over the years... and OSU has been known to meltdown prematurely. If that is the case, there may not be much demand for this ticket after all.

Well, if OSU charges say $99.00 for a home game with Georiga and fills up their stadium, then it's the right price, if there a lot of empty seats then it's too high.

In reality for a home game with Grambling State on September 26 OSU will most likely charge $49.95 plus a free coupon for fries and a coke, a free lube at Jiffy Lube, and a date with a sheep. And still only get 40,000 fans.

Ya'll seem fairly comparable to ours

Oklahoma pricing:

Idaho St. - $49
Tulsa - $69
Baylor - $69
Kansas St. - $79
A&M - $79
Okla St. - $99

Texas A&M pricing:

New Mexico - $55
Utah St. - $55
UAB - $55
Okla St. - $85
Iowa St. - $65
Baylor - $75
Texas - $100

The big difference is you guys are paying to watch one of the top teams in the country win week in and week out. We're paying to watch a 4-8 sqaud maybe win a few games and hopefully not get embarrased by Baylor .. again.

Did I have to stay for the whole game? I left at the half, and I don't feel a bit bad about it. It wasn't because of the weather, but because of the pathetic attempt at football. I gave up on John Blake that night. After the play where we ran the ball into the pile, and then all the sudden the A&M guy had the ball going the other way, I just couldn't take any more.

My tickets in 1999 don't have prices on them. My ticket to the Notre Dame game was $35.00. Just a little defense in that game and i would have had my moneys worth. Actually it would have been worth twice that to get to see a game in South Bend. Still the friendliest place I have ever been to watch OU play with Alabama a very close second.

It was about 12 degrees with a biting N wind? Chance of precip but ended up being somewhat clear which made it colder? Yeah, I was there in Section 9 huddled together with strangers in blankets.

Someday, that might be a controversy in football stadiums instead of just airlines. Do you charge oversized fans extra to attend, just like some airlines charge extra to fly?

Another good reason to have seatbacks, heh :)

I would LOVE to see a "first-come, first-served" OU/OSU game played at a (large) neutral site. It'd be 90% Crimson or more played anywhere outside of Stillwater, and probably 60-70% played IN Stagnantwater.

Well, it depends on the schedule. It's a numbers game, really. If I have to go 3-on-1, then, even though it's a scheduled contest against Baylor, there's a decent chance that I'll "lose," which I think I could totally live with, given the rest of the circumstances surrounding the match. :D

...but since holy is how they roll, I'm pretty sure that the match wouldn't get called due to "rain," and if I can't make it rain, what's the point of being a superstar rapper?
