I just want the season to get started. I don't really care who it is, but the RRS will be one of the most hyped in the Stoops era. Hopefully we're 1 and 2 at the time, but that's probably not likely.

There are a ton of games I looked forward to as much as this game if not more. The national championship games of '00 '04 and '08 In '03 I was not as excited, I just arrogantly expected to win it all that year. Big XII championship game in '00. Nebraska in '00 and '01. I was looking forward to last year's RRS about this much as well. Schnelly had us looking forward to Colorado in '95.

Hey jlew... this one is for you...

Actually.. it's one of the best clips I have seen on "The Game."

It pretty much has everything....

Walks down the tunnel...

Big plays for both teams...

Video of the Gerald Ford/DKR/Switzer walk...

To me that was the game that was gonna show if everything before was a fluke.....Beat Texas, Best K-State....If they didn't beat Nebraska, neither of those wins mean near as much...Nebraska was 1, OU was 3.....at Norman....Tickets being sold for 8 to 9 hundred a piece.....

That game was crazy. The whole crowd wanted it, like against Tech this past year. The whole game was crazy loud.

Honestly, though, I was more impressed with the Tech crowd. Even up by 50, we were screaming for more.

OU/NU 2000 is the game that I anticipated more than any other in my lifetime.

I look forward to every TX game like no other game that season--for the week or two leading up to it, I can think of nothing else.

while all of the games that you list are memorable (and I was fortunate enough to be at most), the all time most anticipated game for me and others that I know was the Nebraska game (at Owen field) in 71 on Thanksgiving day....

Jack Mildren was a phenom that day and the NU QB (Jeff Kinney) was no slouch either...the game hinged on Johnny Rogers punt return for a TD and when I see it replayed I still want to puke since the obvious clip wasn't called...

We went on to paste Auburn in the Sugar Bowl...The old Big VIII finished 1-2-3 in the final poll, with Colorado right behind us

We had a week off after defeating K-State before Nebraska came to town in 2000. I was born in '82, and I'd be shocked if I ever experience anything OU-related that matches up to the buildup I felt for that game.

I was a freshman on campus at that time and Norman was absolutely electric. Then it was kicked up a notch on Friday night with parties up and down Jenkins Street.

And then Saturday......

Pregame for the 2000 Nebraska game was the loudest I've ever heard Owen Field. Bar none. Nothing comes close.

The Tech crowd during the game was probably better because we were just mauling them. Nebraska jumped on us 14-0 in the first few minutes and we were all just stunned. We obviously recovered.

But what we did to Tech. Sheesh. They must have felt like Christians in the Colosseum that night.

I'm not sure that there will ever be another game that the world was looking forward to seeing then this game in '71.

I gotta say the NC game against FL State. Nobody gave us a chance but I just had that feeling.
That game and every RRS ever!

lol i remember hearing my coach in 7th grade talking about it the next day... he said "everyone thinks Florida State just played bad, but i think OU had the best National title defensive performance ever"
