...some education when replying to opponent's posts:

They're: Contraction for "they are"
Their: Possessive, it belongs to them
There: Positional, "it's over there"

Too: Adjective, "Too much, too bad,et al"
Two: Number after " One"
To: Preposition, "to the field, to the max", or infinitive, "to run, to see,"

I know we're all a bunch of f'n hillbillies, but let's try too fool these ninnies from other boards into thinking we're to smart two argue with...so they're.

More common mistakes I see on sports boards are:

Loose - free or released from fastening or attachment
Lose - to come to be without

Wide Receiver - a person who catches passes.
Wide Reciever/Recever/Reciver - not a word

Than - to introduce the second member of an unequal comparison
Then - immediately or soon afterward

Accept - to take or receive
Except - with the exclusion of

Believe - (verb) to have confidence in the truth
Belief - (noun) something believed

Its - something that belongs to 'it'
It's - contraction of "It is"

how about this one:

It's a message board, who the fawk cares about spelling? I've never gotten the people who call out bad spellers on message boards and I'm someone who tries to spell stuff correctly?

Don't forget these gems.

"Are" defense was "dominate" against _____.
take it for "granite"
tough "road" to "hold"

It's a message board, who the fawk cares about spelling? I've never gotten the people who call out bad spellers on message boards and I'm someone who tries to spell stuff correctly?

While not definite proof, poor spelling and grammar call into question the intellegence of the author (fairly or unfairly). Also, you irriate the grammar nazis. If your objective is to influence people, distracting the readers from your point isn't ideal. If you're just trying to vent, then misspell away.

I don't blame anyone for wanting to see the proper use of these terms:

your / you're
their / they're / there
to / too
lose / loose
its / it's

One that is like fingernails on a chalk board to me is "should of," when it should "have" been written that way. I know it sounds like "should of" (as it Stoops should of gone for two in that game....), but it really is "should have" in that context.

Usage changes over time. For example, on this board, I've often hear the saying, "never let a dog eat cheetos." However, in Texas one is more likely to hear, "when Rita goes to the mall cheetos two kids with her."
