Did Haliburton take over Casa Blanca too?

C&CDean
7/28/2009, 12:20 PM
Alright, calm down. As far as I know we're still on for the Casa Blanca lot. I'll have to make sure Phil has the site secured again.

As long as we have the site, I will once again be recruiting sponsors and offering parking at the tailgate.

If you enjoyed last year's version of the tailgate (6-point beers, imports, small bar w/likker, etc.) then we'll need folks to pony up for sponsorships. You can self-sponsor, have your business or company sponsor, or get together with 1 or 100 of your closest friends and chip in enough for a sponsorship. We ain't proud. We'll take any and all donations for the cause.

Again this year we're (Mr. and Mrs. Homey) going to attempt to secure some seriously allsome OU paraphernalia to raffle off to help offset the expense of the dealios.

I'll post a tailgate sticky here pretty soon.

Hey Homey...

What about raffling off a cut off of Sam Bradford's Samson locks for the Women. :D

Simmer down. NCAA regulations bar student-athuletes from selling and/or conspiring to sell their paraphenalia. That's also why there ain't no footballs signed by Steve Owens, Billy Sims (BOOMER!), JW and Slingin' Sammy...yet.

And, BTW, I just got off the phone with my supplier, and I think you'll be verrrry impressed with the OU swag we'll be raffling this year.

For those of us that cannot afford entire sponsorship, what would be the suggested donation per person to snack, soda and beer the afternoon away?

NP and I always contribute to the jar. Any request on how much to contribute?

NormanPride

I don't think it really matters how much, as long as we give consistently and we're not stingy. :D

And olevet, you just take it easy. If you can make it down, great, but if not, just cheer from wherever you is!

Just my opinion mind you, but I've observed just about everyone eats and drinks at least 10 bucks worth per head.

I would add, the raffle tix are 5 bucks each, and it all goes to the same place, so a feller and his companion could buy four raffle chances each game and be square with the house.

I'm sure Dean-o will be along to correct me if I'm lying.

C&CDean
7/29/2009, 03:34 PM
I can't really say on how much to donate cause it's all different for different folks. However, I will say this:

Do not be the one/s who bring 11 of your thirstiest/hungriest/cheapest friends or family members, sit and chow down and swill booze for 4-hours, pee or crap all over the porta-can, leave a big assed mess - cigarette butts and crap that I have to pick up every Sunday morning so we can leave the parking lot all spiffy, and then feel like you're all righteous cause you dropped a quarter, two dimes, and a nickel in the jar.

Yes, we do have these folks at almost every tailgate. No, they're not the same every game. We also sporadically get a group of college kids who heard that we have free beer and they think they're gonna come and camp on the ice chests, drink all the beer, leave NOTHING in the jar, and we should feel blessed that they allowed us to party with their grooviness. These guys and gals get run oft pretty quickly.

Most folks do a very good job of supporting the tailgates with either their $$ or their time and effort. We also understand that everyone's financial situation isn't the same. That being said, we have poor college schmucks who always drop a $20 in the jar, and we have doctor/lawyer types who drop a couple $1s.

My personal rule of thumb? Eat. Drink. Have fun. Help out if you can and what you can. If you're broke then help set-up, tear down, cook, etc. or bring something good to eat/drink/be merry with.

Oh yeah, and buy raffle tickets. Without the raffles we'd be toast. Seriously.

I get 2 parking spot. I bring 2 or 3 friends and I make them toss in a 10 spot each or I throw in for them. Last year me and my boys helped pick up even though were hammered *** drunk! Where is my cookie?

Dean, I have someone who wants to purchase a parking spot.

Your cookie was going home with a warm feeling in your drunken heart knowing you weren't a cheapassed mother****er.:texan:

Peem me on the parking. I'll be putting up a tailgate post as soon as I talk to Phil about the Casa Blanca.
