Hospitals are already struggling under the staggering costs of treating the nation's roughly 47 million uninsured. Illegal immigrants make up an estimated 15 percent of this group, according to the Pew Hispanic Center.

Meh! How could that possibly be construed as a problem?

The hospital didn't deport him. They transferred him to another hospital, with, it appears, all the permission they needed. Good job of acting quickly.

Within the current structure of the system the hospital did nothing wrong. It is unfortunate however that our current model encourages the relegation of any person, citizen or not, into something sub-human. Reason #12234 the healthcare-for-profit model is immoral and flawed.
