Will bailout hurt Chevy sales?

First of all, I am a Ford guy. However, I have talked to several people who have bought Chevrolet who are very irritated about the fact that GM received bailout money. Do you think that the fact that GM has become Obama Motors will hurt sales?

The bailout has kept me from even thinking about a new Camaro.

I am however thinking a new Mustang GT would be a nice toy! :D

I still kick myself sometimes that I got rid of my 05 model.

I have already told my wife as soon as both of my daughters are out of college, I am buying a Ford Shelby Gt 500. I can't afford a real one (1965-1970). As I accelerate down the freeway, I will give Al Gore the finger.

I have a bud that was socking money away to buy TWO new GM vehicles, a Tahoe for towing his bassboat and a Caddy CTS for (mostly) the missus.
Well, he's canned both in favor of a Tundra and a Lexus. Why? Like me, he refuses to own a car from Hussein's Marxist Motor Corp. (formerly known as General Motors.) If had a pot to PZZZZZ in I'd follow his example if buying some new wheels.
Shame, since GM has some seriously great cars and trucks in addition to the aforementioned two...The Malibu, the newest top-end Buick model, and the 'Vette, to name three.

My first car didn't come until my junior year in college - a Buick Century. However, after the Tulsa ice storm of 2007, a tree branch landed on the back windshield and served as a reminder of my bad fortune. I wanted that car gone and I don't think I'd ever want another one similar.

im not a mustang guy, but having a friend who's parents are, and thus live through him, (he's gets a new car from mommy and daddy everytime theres a new body style :rolleyes: ), i love what ford did with the newer body.

i think Chevy has been hurting Chevy's sales ;)

they keep bloating up their cars. do they not understand how many Metros they could have sold in the last couple of years? their new electric seems to be pricing itself out of practicality as well

Honestly, the quality or who owns them wasn't the issue, it was the designs. They've got nothing right now that excites me. The G8 is okay. The biggest draw is that it gets such rave reviews, but it isn't interesting to look at. The CTS is okay, kind of the same thing though. Some of their better looking cars are Buicks and I'm not going to buy a Buick at this point in my life.
Plus, my dad retired from GM so I didn't feel like as much of a traitor, even though we can still get the discount.
