New place in Norman. Went there for lunch today. I'd have to call it poor - average. Is this a chain? Anybody else ever tried it?

Caines is damn good compared to this joint. I had a dozen wings, half hot, the other half inferno (the hottest they offer). I couldn't tell the difference between the two, and neither were really even warm. Nowhere even near hot at BWW. The blue cheese had a weird spice added to it that I couldn't identify (probably schmeg). Momma had the buffalo chicken wrap, and it was OK - except that they put ranch on it, and everybody knows only a pathetic homo puts ranch dressing on buffalo chicken.

Chicken Express is pretty danged good - except they don't have the hot wings. I don't think this new place has regular chicken. Just "tenders" and wings that I could see. Momma said the tenders in her wrap were pretty good, but that the ranch ****ed them all up. My wings were small-average sized, cooked OK, but the sauces were all crap. At BWW I usually order hot wings with blazin' on the side to dip them in. The hottest crap this joint has was kind of sweet/salty tasting and I wouldn't even really call it warm.

Also, 12 wings and a side salad + a wrap cost damn near $20. No drinks.

Muh****in' A! holmes. Ranch has it's place, and it's place is very diverse. However, one of it's places ain't anywhere near hot wings.

for clarification purposes, one must tell them no ice to get just a little bit of ice, otherwise you have more ice than beverage up here. :)

OK, finally ate at Slim Chickens...

Wings were ok. If you want your wings HOT, this is NOT the place to go. However, since The Vista is closed (home of ***-burning wings in every sense of those words) it looks like BWW is still the place to go for hot wings. Not that Slim Chicken's wings were BAD - I mean, they were cooked fine, decent size... just not spicy enough.

Chicken tenders: the chicken itself is better than Cane's and better seasoned. Canes has better breading, though.

Fries: Slim Chickens has damn good fries. Damn good.

Sauces: The "Slim's Sauce" is a thicker, more mayonnaise-y version of Cane's sauce. Not as good. I was also unimpressed by the blue cheese dressing.

ATMOSPHERE: anyplace I go where in a half an hour I hear tunes by Ray Charles, Muddy Waters, AND Aretha is a solid win. Will go again.
