Those of you who have read the book, "Band of Brothers" and/or seen the movie will be familiar with Shifty Powers. Well, he died a few days ago and I think he's a man worth remembering. Thank God our country produced and continues to produce men such as this. God speed Mr. Powers.

I'll second this.

What these men did still amazes me. The level of commitment to an ideal that they displayed is something that is completely missing in todays society. We are more concerned with getting our particular political party in office than the true betterment of this country.

Great man!

There's a story in the book where Shifty shoots a German sniper in a village and later some of the guys find the body. Shot between the eyes.
