Normally I would agree, but this year may be a bit different. With all of the implications, this year could be the most anticipated OU-TX ever. ESPN already has it as the game of the year to watch this season. They hate us for edging them out last season....among other things. We hate them for being them....as well as flying planes and beating us 3 of the last 4 years now. Its #2 vs. #3 in the nation, a bitter rivalry, and the winner has a strong chance at playing for the title in Pasadena. This is the most anticipated regular season game since OU-Nebraska in 2000 IMO. Might have to pony up a pretty penny for a ticket this year. Gameday will likely be there. But its worth whatever asking price is, because 92,000 people will be able to say they they were there, and I will be one of them.

You're probably right. People get desperate come game time. But before that, tickets will probably be ridiculous. Man I can't wait for the season to start.

JLEW1818
7/19/2009, 09:37 PM
yup... just gotta be patient when buying tickets... some sellers start freaking out, and will end up going lower than usual .

He was even better at the clinic. Spoke for two hours and it seemed like 15 minutes. Coaching basketball at a small college and accomplishing what he has is amazing.

Not that I really care that much about the ESPYs, but I caught the last part of it and I don't see how the Lakers deserved to be Best Team over the Steelers, Phillies, Penguins, or the Lady Huskies. Whatevs.

JLEW1818
7/19/2009, 10:27 PM
plead your case!!!

silverwheels
7/19/2009, 10:32 PM
Well, if you go by "best team compared to their competition" then it's the Lady Huskies and there's no question. They destroyed everyone they played en route to a perfect 39-0 season. If you go by "best accomplishment" then I'd have to go with the Penguins for winning games 6 and 7 of the Finals, including a fantastic performance in Detroit in the final game. The Steelers had a great season and won an exciting Super Bowl. The Phillies won a World Series title just a year after they became the first franchise in American professional sports history to record their 10,000th loss. Plus I just plain don't like the Lakers.

JLEW1818
7/19/2009, 10:34 PM
me don't like Lakers either

If we had to pick the most dominate male sports team then it would have to be UConn, but they were playing against girls so it doesn't count.

JLEW1818

i picked Lakers
