REGINA, Saskatchewan -- Graham Harrell is headed to the CFL.

The record-setting Texas Tech quarterback signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Thursday.

Harrell is the NCAA Division I career leader in touchdown passes but wasn't drafted by the NFL. His workout with the Cleveland Browns did not result in a contract.

Harrell had to fight the perception that his numbers were the product of Texas Tech's offensive system and he didn't have the arm strength to succeed in the NFL.

The Roughriders are already two games into their season and have three quarterbacks on their roster. Their starter is former North Carolina quarterback Darian Durant, who had only four career CFL starts coming into the season.

This is funny considering all the NFL talk that was happening during the season. I wish him the best though.

Why not give the trophy to someone besides the best QB?

If you have ever been to Regina, you will know that it is the Lubbock of Canada. It is the same size, there is nothing to do there and oddly enough, Regina may be flatter than Lubbock.

True, but Lubbock is mighty cold in the winter too, however, I don't think they get to -30C there. There season ends in November because of this.

Harrell to Crabtree was the biggest single play in CFB last season and we were the biggest beneficiary. He followed that up with a courageous comeback against Baylor with Crabtree out and several broken bones in his left hand. If Graham doesn't accomplish either of those feats, the horns would be defending conference champs. I can only thank Harrell and wish him the best.

word. no hard feelings here.

i don't get why TTech QBs don't play in the NFL. seems having to run that offense would make you pretty good. all he did was win 11 games last year at Tech. when is the last time they did that?

Anyone who wishes wish ill will on any of these players (except for the ones who commit serious crimes) is just sad.

just funny how nobody took him in the draft... not one team... obviously those quarterbacks are not meant for the nfl

Local news said he was going to compete for the number two spot with West A&M's ex-QB Bell.

If Baylor won that game, we would have all driving from Norman to Lubbock in got in a big rumble, and say **** the rest of the season.
