View Full Version : I DUNKED ON LEBRON JAMES!

It's a shame that there's no, you know, uh... proof or anything.

F*ckin' Nike...

LeBron James may have made a dubious decision by asking Nike representatives to confiscate video tapes of a sensational dunk Xavier hoopster Jordan Crawford threw down over King James.

According to CBS Sports columnist Gary Parrish and echoed by Henry Abbott on his TrueHoop blog, Crawford posterized James with a two-hander during a pickup game at the LeBron James Skills Academy. Shortly afterwards, LeBron called over a Nike rep, who proceeded to take the tapes from two cameramen capturing footage of the event before the incident could make the rounds on YouTube.

As Parrish writes, freelance photographer Ryan Miller was approached by Nike Basketball senior director Lynn Merritt, who took his tape.

"He just said, 'We have to take your tape,'" Miller said in Parrish's article. "They took it from other guys, too."

Maybe some NBA players will realize it is actually ok to go dunk on him now. I can't stand the way "stars" coddle each other by seeming to take it easy on each other when they go down the middle.

you might have had to fight me to get a tape from me like that

This Fark better not be from our SoonerFans contingent. If it is I need to go neg the creator.

Xavier's a Nike school, but they've chopped off the top half of an Indiana player wearing Adidas shoes. You can see the IU on the left side of the shorts.

"Attention to Detal" people.

Who the fawk cares if Lebron got dunked on or not, the media is making a mountain out of a mole hill and you guys are along for the ride...I guess this is what we have to be excited about without football?

I think it points out what a prima dona he is. I think it is newsworthy. :P

Had there been an official present I'm sure they would have called a foul on the kid that dunked on him. :P

I dont think Lebron has done much in his career even at such a young age to gripe about so the media is reaching here

I think the exact same thing would have happened if it were Kobe, D-Wade, or any other high profile NBA star getting dunked on. Nike is seriously committed (millions upon millions of dollars committed) to protecting the image of players signed to their brand.

I guarantee you if it were Jordan that got dunked on. Not only would the tapes have been confiscated and destroyed, but he'd probably pay everyone in attendance to keep their mouths shut and bankrupt anybody who didn't.

There's not been a bigger prima dona than Jordan, so....did you actually prove my point?

They can make it into one of those silly Internet ads where they take some highly skilled athlete, put them with a slow computer and by the end of the ad, all of their awards, bling, etc. is with the old guy who says "I'm faster than (insert athlete name here)."

I'm just saying don't single Lebron out as the only Prima Dona out there. It would be the same ordeal with any other super star.

Curly Bill

Did I somewhere post that Lebron was the only prima dona out there?

Sorry to offend, Ms. James.

This appears to be a much better video. By trying to cover this up, Lebron made this into something so much bigger than it was.

not to defend Lebron but Ive heard it was Nike not Lebron who confiscated everything...not sure. Either way it should have never been a big deal

stupid that such a big deal was made of this. Lebron wasnt even in the play until the very end when he tried to play some last-second help-defense. Most guys wouldnt even try to block that dunk, lest they "get dunked on". stupid macho BS

I heard Lebron told Nike to do that. I don't know for sure, though.

At the next break in the action, LeBron called over one of his reps, who also assists him with running the camp, and it was this rep who brought the "issue" with the cameras that were running to camp security. The ESPN employee, who wasn't there in an "official" capacity, who was recording is the one who wrote the account of what happened and how his camera, including all of the "legal" footage he had shot earlier, was taken from him. He has also since been given the run-around. (No, we told you that so-and-so has it. No, I'm sure that I said such-and-such has it. Ask them again.)

I don't want to link the story 'cause I'm tired, but it's on either ESPN.com, or Truehoop.

this is rather pathetic... it wasn't even like an OMG dunk, it was just a dunk. blake has 20 of these every game. lebron has nothing to worry about... except for not winning championships, hehe

Let's see Iverson is a baby...Lebron is baby, Jordan is a baby, Kobe is a baby.

Can someone please make a list of non cry babies in the NBA? And try to add more than Blake, Taylor, and Najera ;) TIA!!!
