So ive been craving homemade fried tacos all day. Decide to make em. Cook the meat, put it in corn tortillas, and go to put some veg oil in the ol cast iron, and realize i have no veg oil. So i go to put the tacos in the fridge so i can go get some oil, and there is the old coffee can with a ziploc bag for a lid staring at me. Full of bacon grease. It takes about a half a second for me to realize that this is going to be a delicious decision on my part. I highly recommend.

Situations like this is why I always keep my bacon grease. You never know when you'll need it.

Your cardiologist says, "Thanks for putting another one of my kids through college!"

It sure sounds good, though.

I don't think my wife's mother (she passed away before we met each other) used much veg oil in making her Mexican food, it was always the saved bacon from what my wife said. There probably wasn't much veg oil in the "old country".
