1974, because they were still on probation from the Kerry Jackson sitty-a-shun.

Didn't the conference not allow back-to-back bowl games in the 50s?

1950 we lost a game still win the national title
1956 we didn't go bowling because the conference didn't allow back to back bowls.
1974 probation didn't allow us to go bowling or be on TV if I'm not mistaken.

Completely contrary to LIDS biased beliefs, I think you are right about 74 being the only one due to probation

back then the MNC was awarded prior to bowl games as well.

We didn't play a bowl game in 2004, either. Football disappeared until fall 2006.
