Thoughts on the pig-horse...

1- They have improved it slightly by making the hair NOT-red, making the face less pig-like in appearance, having gloves instead of hoovie things and decking 'em out in football attire instead of a sweater w/ no pants.

2- I still don't like it, not because the dudes in the costume are doing a bad job or anything, but because they got rid of Top Dawg.

3- No, bringing Top Dawg back for special Final Four occasions will NOT suffice. I wanna see Top Dawg more than once every five years!

Putting the horse pig on more OU stuff is not gonna make me like it... but I'm guessing they're hoping that younger Sooner fans will grow to love it... if any of you younger ones are reading, remember that this was how it was for us with Top Dawg. We grew to love it, then, like telling us Santa wasn't real, they took our beloved dawg away. BOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Forgot to mention that I met the one of the original HorsePigs at the Utah Sooner Alums Utah St. watch party here in Salt Lake.
This guy is a recent graduate and was one of the first two dudes in the HorsePig outfit back in 2005. He said the costume have undergone some much needed remodels in recent years...

Could make a fetching headdress out of Miami's ibis. Red Raiders, cornhuskers and Petes? Well, lone agriculturalists didn't fare well out on the staked plains. Jayhawks could be, as in the game of football, largely ignored. And for the A&M game? Well, they say to spay and neuter your pets.>

I didn't dislike Top Dawg, but he was more basketball to me, than football. We had two or three perfectly good mascots over the years and disgarded them heartlessly only to replace them with the horsepigs.

Sooner or later, the Gods of football will become angry with us for our arrogance and bring plagues down upon our house.

I don't mind the newest edition, I think they acctually look like horses. They don't look like **** like the first editions, or scary like the second editions. The mascots are mostly meant for the kids anyways, I'm sure they don't care either way.
