Sack Robinson's fumble on the goal line in 2006 against OU
Hei-Sam goes airborne at OSU 2008

I admit I know more game-changers from or against us than I do other teams. I did put a few other big moments on there.

This is just Big 12 history... so... hmm... what might else be on there? Hmm...

2001 - Superman Safety? ...touchdown!
2002 - Q's career against Texaz ends with a bang
2003 - 65-13, 77-0 or 52-9
2004 - A&M converts fake FG and fake punt against us, still loses; wide field goal disappoints OSU student section camping on ugly orange mats ready to rush field
2005 - "he's in, are you?"
2006 - (i guess it's technically 2007) the d@mn liberty thingy, the duck ref that ruined the season
2007- colorado's field goal that sent their fans rushing the field
2008 - helicopter sam

Nominees for other teams:
Baylor - Elects to go for 2 in OT, beat A&M for first time in 13 years 35-34, fans rush field
A&M - Fired Fran sent out on win over arch rival - acts aggie with Stephen after the game, walks out on the AD that hired him in the press conference
Texaz - VY over SC, without a doubt.
OSU - Win over Tech at home in 2007 on dropped pass, followed by infamous postgame rant. Fyi, Gundy is 40

Hmm... the north now...

Nebbish - Disgruntled fans release "first TD" balloons in fourth quarter of Homecoming game (the few that didn't leave at halftime, that is), AD promptly fired, legendary coach brought back, cally fired at end of season, tee hee :D
Mizzou - Chase rides Lofton after INT :D
KU - Um... winning the Orange Bowl after sucking a lot at football in general?
CU - That d@mn field goal.
ISU - Nothing tops Seneca's insane Tech run.

CU and south carolina i think

badger
7/3/2009, 04:08 PM
so what is the top 7?

They are almost going with player/team performances as opposed to moments/plays per se, so here goes:

1- VY over USC
2- Superman
3- Fran Fran beats Texaz, resigns
4- CU upsets Texaz for Big 12 title in 2001
5- Rebirth of MU/KU rivalry in 07?
6- Dropped pass leads to OSU over Tech, "Man, 40" rant?
7- Baylor opts to go for 2, beats A&M 35-34 in OT?

I know these aren't the top players/teams/moments/plays, but politically correct as a Big 12 has gotta be, they aren't going to give all the top plays to OU :D

Normally I would be 100 percent against Texaz being No. 1 in anything... but their awesome play meant more than ours, which will give them the nod over us.

1- Vince (because it was for the championship)

2- Crabtree (because it was the best play in the history of Texaz Tech football, hands down)

3- Superman w/Teddy Lehman (because it would be No. 1 if OU hasn't had so many outstanding plays throughout it's history... and it's a non-championship game)

That came with over 7 minutes to go in the game. Our offense had just completed a 12-15 play TD drive, so they were doing well at the time as well. TMarsh's play certainly made it easier, but it's very arguable that they could've come back without it.

yah... we were losing at the time... and the aggies had the ball.

you could make the same argument for Super Roy..... we were up 7-3, texas had the ball on their 3 ..... with a little over 2 minutes left???? OUr D held them to 3 points thus far....whose to say they would have gone 97 yards to win the game? doubtful

Nothing against the SuperRoy play, but we did end up losing 2 games after that.... not that it go spoiled or anything...but the Marshall pick was the year before.. (when we won the national title) .... but then again you cant compare later games to current moments...

So therefore my answer is

SuperRoy was the best moment..

T. Marshall pick was the most important.

Surely tech/texas '08 and USC's pathetic defensive plan from the Rose Bowl are his top 2

7/9/2009, 09:22 AM
It is possible that they will go with the end of the Nebraska/Michigan bowl game (Alamo, methinks) rather than one of those two plays... but highly unlikely.

In case you forgot what happened, Callyburger and Carr Carr came down to the final play, but before it was over, both teams' sidelines cleared and... you know, reminiscent of "the band is on the field, omg" of Stahnferd/Cal.

Nebbish won, but Cally still got fired when the Huskers had it up to here with all the losing :D

"We WILL NOT let Nebraska gravitate to mediocrity!"

Oh wait...

Why let Nebraska gravitate to mediocrity when you gravitate your own future as an athletic director toward mediocrity?

Early reports were that when Tom Osborne arrived back on campus that the Nebraska ath dept. didn't even look like one, that award plaques were hidden in closets and former athletes weren't welcome to drop by and visit practices or anything anymore.

They might as well have been some sh1t-tier school that didn't have NFL and All-American alumni and no awards to display at all with the way what's-his-face ran stuff

So, let mee get this straight. OU can win the conference 3X more than any other team in it's history, & win one of, it not THE most out of the blue NC's in recent memory (I'm sorry, but if you can't find at least one highlight out of this season, you AREN'T trying). Yet, when making the final tally of this list is made, OU has four negatives against all of one positive (the same number as Iowa State) memory. You might want to take a look out the window, Tim. The credibility of your list is flying by.

I'll definitely agree with that now that OU's return to prominence has been established for a while, but not then. The fact that that season came out of nowhere was what made it as exciting as it was, & IMO, anybody who says that they were expecting it (sans MAYBE Stoops, he's just confident enough to have actually done so), well, I'm going to have to call baloney on. NOBODY saw that coming until it actually happened.
