I don't understand how they root for their rivals when they play o/o conference games. I can't imagine ever rooting for Texas. I pull for the Cornshuckers, but not out of conference loyalty.
I guess what makes sense is rooting for your own strength of schedule to be boosted, but I hear SEC fans say that as long as the SEC looks good they expect to get better recruits. Maybe that's the difference in other rivalries...OU and Texas compete in recruiting too. Ohio St and Michigan don't ever root for each other that I know of.
