I need the name of a comedy team from the early 80's, one of the members is from California, the other is from Mississippi...Anybody have any idea who they may be?

Who was the comedy team that was the headliner when Sinbad made his first Birmingham appearance. The date was November 1983.

and

lots of good guesses but no winner yet. It was a comedy team. One from Calif. and one from Mississippi. You may have to find someone who was a big comedy fan back then.
