Downloaded. Without jizzing my pants. :)
You must have a slow connection...the entire process took me less than 5 minutes.

Heh.
It took longer than that...the connection to Apple Store to activate the update had a lot of trouble getting through. 10 minutes for the entire update, 15 to connect to the store without timing out.

I had no problems getting connected or anything..it just took forever..

The crowds are obviously starting to hit the servers...probably get worse before it gets better.

See, I'm the opposite. I install alphas even. I've never really had any issues.
Having said that, I can't get 3.0 installed because I keep getting a "activation server busy error."
UUUUUGHHHH stop updating you bastards so that I can!

I just did mine after reading this, it took a little over 10 minutes total from connecting it to the laptop to restarting the iPhone. They are supposed to have a Sirius radio ap tomorrow.

Fella at the Apple Store yesterday explained what "tethering" is and I think that is a great upgrade for the iP.

you could get an app with the old firmware that did it. i've heard people talking about doing it with this one, but i'm not sure if it's with a hack or not

Me either..... I thought I read it would save your login names when logging into, say SF. No such luck.

Did it this morning, about ten minutes. ho-hum. Altho simplified emailing of pics is nice. Before this, you had to attach pics to an email via gmail, etc.

No you didn't. You could always attach a photo directly, but you couldn't attach multiple photos. Before you had to attach 1 photo per email but now you can attach up to 5.
Also, my GPS is a LOT faster. It took forever to acquire a signal before but now it's almost instantaneous.

I like the thingy on the "recent calls" that says where the call originated from, if the number isn't part of contacts.

Well, I figured out today was the day they went on sale, the garage had more cars than usual at 8:00am. When I got to the office I looked out the window and there was a line from the Apple Store down the sidewalk, about half as long as the 3G launch.
