It's not surprising that *Texas* ranks as the nation's leader in total athletic department revenue. But the other Big 12 member of the top ten might surprise you.

According to a study commissioned by Street & Smith SportsBusiness Journal, *Texas* and Oklahoma State rank as the top revenue producers for their athletic department.

Using information generated from the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act forms, finding that *Texas* generated $120.3 million in the 2007-08 fiscal year for its total athletic department. Second was Ohio State at $118 million.

The other member of the top 10 from the Big 12 was Oklahoma State, which produced $88.6 million during the most recent fiscal year.

Here's the top 10 in the nation, according to the SportsBusiness Journal. Big 12 teams are in bold.

1. *Texas* - $120.3 million
2. Ohio State - $118 million
3. Florida - $106 million
4. Michigan - $99 million
5. Wisconsin - $93.5 million
6. Penn State - $91.6 million
7. Auburn - $89.3 million
8. Alabama - $88.9 million
9. Tennessee - $88.7 million
10. Oklahoma State - $88.6 million

just the day before, duncan reported that LSU was in the #10 spot.

but tim duncan's an idiot. how he has a job is beyond me.

most of his coverage of the sooners in the bcs championship last year was either ou didnt deserve to be there in favor of texas, or on his knees with the rest of college football writers lined up to suck st. tim's ****.

That might have been strictly football revenue, not athletic dept..

Texas leads the nation in football revenue, according to a study commissioned by Street & Smith's SportsBusiness Journal.
