Stop *emphasizing* Tejas!

When you put asterisks by EITHER SIDE of a word, that's an editorial term of EMPHASIS. It means that word is AWESOME or IMPORTANT.

Put a star by them. Put two stars by them.

*DON'T* EMPHASIZE THEM.

I don't know where we went wrong, and I whined about this a month ago, but it hasn't gone away. We should just have an asterisk by the side, like Tejas*. Or, if we want to be a tad silly, two asterisks, like Tejas**.

But the way we currently do it would be like automatically bolding the word Tejas. Or putting it into italics.

Which make me a little sick to my stomach every time I see it.

Guys. Seriously. We need to fix this.

I suggests the mods have OUr posts replace the word Texas with tittybaby . . .

Maybe we should have a little plane with a banner that says "waaaa" every time anyone types any form whatsoever referring to them? :pop:

Part of me wonders if maybe we've got the asterisks all wrong -- perhaps they're there because we lost some sort of bet? If so, I'll accept them. You've got to pay up on such things.

They were put there when Mack claimed the Big 12 co-championship with an asterisk.
I think the joke ran it's course already though.

Hmm, good point, Kansas. And, Doc -- that's what I always assumed at the time, I just never grokked why we did it the wrong way.

Maybe it bothered me more'n everyone else since I'm the poster most likely to use asterisks for emphasis :D

or make text for texas the same color as the background so we don't even have to read it in the first place :D
