View Full Version : Bumper Sticker: America: Love it or leave it!

I saw this for the first time in a while on a car driven by a veteran. He had USMC stickers on his back window and his Kentucky license plate indicated he was a veteran.

Question: do you think he placed this bumper sticker on his car in reaction to all the recent talk from people about their respective states seceding from the U.S.? Does he think these folks are traitors and they should go elsewhere because they obviously don't love this country? Do you think this old adage applies to those engaged in secessionist talk? Thoughts?

All I know is a listened to some weenie on NPR for about an hour early this morning wail and lament the crime and horror of splashing water on jihaadists' faces.

He was arguing in favor of throwing everyone in the hoosegow who had anything to do with these incomprehensibly horrible acts of splashery, from the highest levels of the goverment to the lowest-level front-line splasher, in order to show the world we take human rights seriously. srsly.

I hate America haters.;)

so yeah, love it or leave it works for me.:D

Seriously, how funny would it be if the Obama haters had to post from France?

No sense leaving, the pendulum will surely swing back before too long. It always has, although WWII prolonged the leftward swing longer than it might have otherwise. I'll settle for righty gains in Congress next year that would stymie further squandering.

When America's identity natrually changes and evolves so that those who were unquestionably in power are now uncertain of their power and standing in society, instability might be created deliberately in an attempt to cling desperately to a fading past.Fixed.

One man's "torture" is another man's "hazing." We'll just have to agree to disagree. In my fourth-class year at The Citadel, back when dinosaurs walked the Earth, they did things to me that I still don't like to think about. Look how good I turned out!;)

Okla-homey
6/14/2009, 08:36 PM
how many of you died? Well, in truth, a few guys committed suicide, several were hospitalized, lots of broken bones, and the big news was when this frosh named Harry Delaroche went home over the holidays and killed his whole family because his Dad wouldn't let him quit and insisted he return for the Spring semester.

You can probably Google that: "Harry Delaroche", I think he's still serving time in Rahway State Prison in NJ.

Someone wrote a book about it.

it helps because splashing water in bad guys faces is not torture in any reasonable person's book. Making people do chin-ups over drawn swords from blazing hot overhead steam pipes, among other things, is torture.

it's really cute how the Bush apologists latch on to waterboarding and play it down like it isn't that bad.

especially since that's only the beginning

comparing it to illegal hazing doesn't make it any less torture, or right

Chuckster, most right-wingers I know cherish freedom, not National Socialism(nazis) We are losing that freedom rapidly, now, and the discussions I've heard don't concern leaving our beloved country. (your definition of right-wing is what's incorrect)

You forget that none of these people are uniformed combatants and don't adhere to general rules of engagement or the Geneva Convention. Just ask the 8 murdered hospital workers and their families (Germans, Brits and South Korean men, women and children) in Yemen...

In my lifetime this country has never been "free."

Yes there are civil rights and carp...but free this country has not been for at least 33+ years.
