to see what condition my condition was in.

Is this the same Kenny Rogers that did Coward of the County, The Gambler, and Dolly Parton?

I want to make up a word here...Zevon-esque. Nope, that looks too ghey. I'll never use that word. But this song does NOT fit with the other Kenny Rogers stuff I know. I had no idea it was him until tonight. And I'm still not sure I believe it. I think the googler, the innerwebs, and the whole damn universe must be playing some lame joke on me about this meaningless piece of music trivia.

He actually did like 2 full albums of the psychadelic stuff in the late 60s. Pretty much cashing in on the movement I guess.

The group was The First Edition. Guy who wrote most of their music and played guitar and back up vocals was Mike Settle from Muskogee.

Yeah, I knew the time frame, but actually thought this was the only one that got any real play. I'll have to check it out just for fun.

Thanks.

Those other songs are very much less psychedelic rock than "I Just Dropped In"

Those other songs are very much less psychedelic rock than "I Just Dropped In"No sheet! "Dropped In" was their only tripped-out song i know of, but I don't really know their music, other than those 4 hits thay had.

The other ones are more of a folksy flower power kinda thing. Like Crosby, Stills, and Nash with a country slant.

I probably should have said a poor man's Crosby, Stills, and Nash with a country slant and bad harmonies!

One time I was at this anti-drug church deal about 35 years ago. One of the deals they were pimping was "drug music" and how it encouraged kids to take drugs. This song was the first one they played. Me and Lenny Vuke had just gone out into the parking lot and smoked a doob and dropped a hit of window pane about an hour or so before. It was the allsome.
