holy crap, i haven't read anything about the new SHO

i don't really like Ford, as a rule, but AWD twin-turbo? wtf?

http://www.rsportscars.com/ford/2010-ford-taurus-sho/

i like where they are going :D

I'm actually pretty fond of the Legacies, but being 6'6 and having two small children I require the accomodations of a full-size vehicle.

I know, right? And that interior (assuming it actually sees the assembly line) is friggin sweet.

have you sat in one? i haven't in a while, but i'm got more headroom in my Impreza than i have in like any other car i've driven. (including a Taurus) i chose the Legacy over the Impreza STi because i thought you were going more for the midsize thing, and the Impreza is more of a compact, and i didn't realize how high the sticker is on those cars. of course it's also only in wagon form these days...

To be fair, they are still cranking out the GXP under it's original name down under.

they do love their big RWD V8 cars down there

speaking of other markets, i just saw that they are bringing the Focus RS here. wow.

Holden Commodore? Yeah, but not for much longer, I'm afraid.

I have not driven a Subaru, but the combination of TT and AWD entices me. I just can't get over the HP numbers on the two domestics though--415 for the Pontaic and 365 for the Ford.

they are probably a good amount heavier too though.

the domestics, not the jet packs ;)

While that is true, it's not really a concern to me. The G8 GXP has confirmed 0-60 times of 4.5 seconds. Sure, it's a gas hog, but that's kinda the point. Sorry yermom, I just don't see the Subaru thing happening. I prefer the size and the styling of the domestics.

yeah, i'm mostly pulling your chain on the Subaru thing, i don't really like where they've gone with the styling lately either, except the wagon, strangely. the space and acceleration concerns may not be all that realistic though

I saw the SHO at the Houston Rodeo and that car in AMAZING and I am not a Ford person at all. It isn't your grandmother's Taurus, that is for sure. Great looking car and a hell of a set up under the hood too. I am going to give it a year or two to wrok out the bugs and I may look at one myself.

Heh. You're not the first to say that. The M5 is an incredible vehicle, but for one in my a price range I'm looking at a car that's nearly 5 years old and probably has in excess of 50k miles. If I'm going to drop close to 40k on a vehicle, I'd prefer it to be new. I don't really myself as a BMW guy either. I don't have the appropriate trophy-wife, latte'-sipping, poodle grooming yuppie persona.

I'm very happy with this:

Although I'm just under 6' 4" and it's all I can do to fit inside it.

Pontiac =/ in business and will be dropped and not exist.

I'm a certified, card-carrying BMW guy. I hate coffee in any form. My first wife is the trophy, and I'm pretty sure I'm no longer a Young anything.

Please do not buy a used M5. It will absolutely eat you alive in repair and maintenance costs. Go with a 540, if you're all about blau-mit-weiss, or one of the new turbo 3's.

You're welcome.

I didn't mean to suggest you're a pillow-biting Nancy boy, but that is the stereotpye. Besides, you're an attorney, I could have said much worse things about you. :D

Your next vehicle shall not be anything from Government Motors.

Try a car from a private company...they will be better....I promise.
