Very excellent fellow. Lived in rural Maryland with his wife. Vietnam vet. Passed away in his sleep. I'm advised it was a heart attack of some kind and he did not suffer.

Very active in preservation of Civil War sites. Manned the virtual barricades with me more than a few times in sometimes successful efforts to stop the developers dozers.

He didn't suffer fools lightly, but this particular fool never had any problems with him.

Rest in Peace Charles. Make sure you have our hooch ready because I'll be along directly.

Take your time on that, Homey.

He was certainly a character, and he will be missed. I think some people are just beginning to realize the widespread effects of his influence.

Sorry for your loss.

Hell of a time to lose a 'nam Vet - the day before Memorial Day.

Thoughts and prayers for his family. I'm sure you valued his friendship, Homey.

I'm sorry for your loss of a good friend, Homey. I've got a fair number of Nam vet friends as well, one of whom has been battling leukemia for over 8 years. My thoughts and prayers are with you, and with your buddy's family.

A YouTube tribute to my departed friend, made by an admirer.

I wish I could be Sharpsburg, MD for the send-off doins' tomorrow Brother, but I'll be there in spirit.
