OSU had a high RPI, 26. It won the Tech series the last week of the season. OU's RPI was only 16 or so.

This is how we are paired up boys....wow...4 really solid teams in our regional. I am SHOCKED that we got a National seed....if we find a way to win this....then I really like our chances with either Georgia or FSU coming to Norman.

WE ARE the super regional host as a National seed IF we win our regional. Plain and simple.

Take care of business this weekend and then hopefully kick FSU or Georgia's @$$ in Norman on the road to Omaha.

It guarantees that if we win our regional that we get to host a super. That is the only significance to being a top 8 national seed. If one of the top 8 losses, then it goes to the highest remaining seed. I'm pretty sure that it is like basketball in the sense that it is really a 1-64 seeding thing, they just split them up and what not. Having a top 8 seed is HUGE!!

I can't believe that the sheep humpers and the fighting baptist's got in. oswho won 2 of 9 conference series, and baylor ended the year getting swept in their last 3 conference series, including against last place Nebraska. Unbelievable!

OSU had an RPI of #26. Baylor played their way in this weekend by beating Texas. I have NO problem with Baylor getting in....but I was shocked about OSU.

This article says 85% of the reserved all session tickets have already been sold. I don't know if they are holding some single game tickets back but I would imagine those will sell out fast also.

Arkansas explodes for 9 in the 8th to take a 10-3 lead over Washington State. Three outs away from taking the first game of the Norman regional. Hopefully this means they used up some good pitching seeing as they were still down 3-1 going into the bottom of the 8th.

Game over. Arkansas takes it 10-3. Looks like Dallas Kuechel pitched 7 innings and Mike Bolsinger finished it off for Arkanas.

Looking at Arkansas' stats, Kuechel is probably their ace. He pitched the most innings, and had the most wins (7-3). If we win, I'm guessing we would get Brett Eibner who has a slightly lower ERA (3.90 compared to 4.14), but despite starting is only averaging slightly more than 4 innings appearance. He did pitch a complete game, though.

Bolsinger has been their most used reliever, but not the best. Their closer, Stephen Richards, has had a 1.11 ERA, and recorded 9 saves this year along with a 5-1 record.

One brutal stat I see from the first game was that only three of the ten runs WSU gave up to Arkansas were earned.

Great game from Chase Anderson. Didn't allow a run and gave up just two hits. It was kinda upsetting to see Doyle struggle, but it probably was a good thing as he will be fresh for another start at some point in this regional.

Anybody think we might possibly start Duke for a game? Haven't watched much this year, but I remember him being one of our best pitchers last year. Any guesses for our Arkansas game starter?

The good news is that Rocha and Doyle did badly to start both games and were quickly pulled so we have plenty of starting pitching left to make a comeback in the regional.

For some reason we put in Semler, who hadn't pitched since May 4th, and has been used sparingly all year I guess. Gave up a triple to start the inning off. He nearly got home on an overthrow to third. Next batter singled and brought in a run. Semler gets the hook.

We WEREN'T saving starting pitching....our starting pitching AND relief pitching is getting SHELLED.

Doyle and Rocha aren't being "saved"....they just got ran WAY early. I think we have determined that Rocha isn't a starter. He is great to come in once the game starts. Personally, I would have put in CJ Blue (lefty) before I put on Semler. Lots of junk and Arky has had trouble hitting lefties all year.

Our bats have cooled and we can't get the big hit when we need it:

Harughty is in a slump...Baker is in a semi-slump...our 6-8 hitters last night killed us.

If we can figure out a way to win 3 in a row, with 2 over a red hot Hog squad, then we will certainly have earned our way into the Super. Based on our cooling bats and disappearing pitching.....I would put our chances at 20%.....at best.

That pitcher was pitching foul balls, getting us behind. Wise just put it in play and it found a tiny seam so the SS couldn't make the play. Great at bat and now another pitching change.

It appears I missed most of a great game by Richards. He pitched a whole game! Finally got some good starting pitching.

It looks like we'll be seeing TJ Forrest and Drew Smyly from Arkansas. Both look beatable. Forrest is 2-6 with a 5.73 ERA, and Smyly is 2-1 with a 5.60 ERA. I'm just guessing, though. Their stats show four pitchers starting more than two games and they used two of them up already.

How sad...blown out by Pigmentations two nights in a row. We had 0 hits beginning the 9th and we were down 11-0.

Wow, Texas was trailing 10-6 going into the bottom of the 9th. They scored 4 runs to tie it up and then loaded the bases and then hit a grandslam homer to win the game and their regional.

The only other Big 12 teams alive are Okla. State and K-St who have 1 loss each and play their regionals #1 seed on Monday night for the right to go to the Super Regionals.

I can't say that I am shocked by losing to Arky in this regional....but we were horrible at the plate. I hate the fact that we were given a national seed, that we didn't deserve IMO (FSU or Ole Miss).......and then just get BLOWN OUT in 2 games against Arky. It was never even close.

Arky bats were on fire. Our pitching was shaky and our offense was absent. Pretty simple....
