Root hard gentlemen, I've got boards coming up and will be missing my first bedlam baseball game in 10 years. Not happy about it, but at least I can watch the end tonight and tomorrow on tv. They have killed us lately, hopefully are team is pumped, cuz you know the pokes are gonna be, they are playing for their life, and they always get up for big brother.

Anybody else think Erben will start Saturday? His performance against Kansas was a bright spot last weekend and it seems like it's a high probability to happen.

Collier11
5/8/2009, 09:23 AM
It would be nice if Porlier could get back in a groove, tough coming back after being out that long though

Ardmore_Sooner
5/8/2009, 09:25 AM
I would LOVE to see him make a solid return, but I dunno if this weekend will be that time.

Hopefully this weekend we will get lights out Richards instead of 2/3 of an inning Richards

Ardmore_Sooner
5/8/2009, 09:34 AM
2/3 of an inning? He only had 4 pitches against Kansas. :D

Pitch 1: Wild pitch with the bases loaded, brings home a run.
Pitch 2: Ball
Pitch 3: Ball
Pitch 4: Leaves one over the plate and gives up a 3-run HR.

Collier11
5/8/2009, 09:59 AM
I guess I have him too much credit ;)

Ardmore_Sooner
5/8/2009, 10:09 AM
He did pitch very well against UTA, so I guess I'll give him credit there. :D

Scientific fact: Jekyll/Hyde Richards alternates between rec-league/all conference starts........he will be all conference this weekend. LOL

This is going to be a ridiculous series.......all those games (mizzou, nebraska, KU-game one) hopefully won't come back to haunt us. It would have been nice entering Bedlam playing loose......

5/8/2009, 11:26 AM
These guys gotta take it easy this weekend and just play their game. If they get tight and try and do to much I think it could be a long weekend. If they play like we all know they can then it should be a good time. No one knows what is going to happen.

It would be great to sweep this weekend but that is a tough job. Very do-able but a difficult task. We still have a lot of baseball to play and this has been a great year regardless!

Bedlam baseball: OU starting pitcher Doyle suspended

Buzz up!From Staff Reports
Published: May 8, 2009
TULSA -- Oklahoma pitcher Andrew Doyle, who was scheduled to start Game 1 of the Bedlam Series vs. Oklahoma State on Friday night at Drillers Stadium, has been suspended due to violation of team rules. OU officials would not say why Doyle was suspended, but he is expected to miss the entire Bedlam Series, which continues 7:05 tonight and 4:05 p.m. Sunday at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.

Doyle has been the Sooners' No. 1 pitcher in the rotation with a 6-4 record and 4.19 ERA.

Stephen Porlier (1-1, 4.74) replaced Doyle as the starter Friday night. The remainder of the Sooners' rotation will be announced later.

Oh....Rocha.....please keep the ball down in the zone. Porlier had the ball elevated the entire night......and the friggin Medchill pop fly dinger was ridiculous. Most poorly hit homer I have seen in a long time.

Harughty needs to break out of his funk with runners on.

Keep after it Sooners.......

I think maybe the Doyle thing went down earlier in the week but they kept it under wraps.

Guys, I can't describe the atmosphere I felt tonight. The fans, the weather, the game. It was all perfect. Let's take this series tomorrow.

Oh and that shot by JT..... still hasn't hit the ground yet! :D

Rocha pitched really well and OSU looked really bad.

The Cowboys appear to have no "character"......no "fire".....they all look like robots out there.

I would love to see us light up Lyons after watching him talk crap to Porlier following the weakest pop fly homer that I have ever seen leave a ballpark.

Any idea where I can find a replay of JT's homer. I was flipping back and forth between the OU/pukes game and the cubbies and missed it. Of course since osu was broadcasting the game, they didn't show a single sooner replay all night. Par the the step brothers.

how was the crowd? I live across the street and the parking seemed less on our block this year. Also, we sat outside at the neighbors deck and it sounded like the oSu crowd was larger as per usual.

That Wise HR was a moon shot, and that kid talking **** to Porlier is typical of osu athletics. A bunch of arrogant pricks with nothing to show for it

Isn't that why they have one of the games in Tulsa? So the stepbrother can have a crowd?

The crowd was split, imo, 60-40 OSU. The OU fans far outdid their counterparts in the cheering department.

And the stadium was pretty much full, just a few empty seats from what I could see.

Wow that was worth the read, you would have thought we didn't win a game last year and the won the whole thing, fun how right that guy ended up being.

The difference between this board and theirs is that here we would have acknowledged he was right and we were wrong, but par for aggies, that thread hasn't been touched in a while.

All....the facts are that OSU supports the baseball program much better than OU. It doesn't really matter what the records are.....more Cowboy fans typically show up to Bedlam because they have been following the team all year. The Pokes will show up tonight...but if OU wins....they will all be "ghost" tomorrow.

For 95% of the OU baseball "fans"......this weekend is the start of baseball season and it will end at the end of this month as soon as OU plays the last game in the Big 12 tourney.

The Orangepower thread was gold.......I love the "the hack writer obviously doesn't know his stuff" line.....ignorance is bliss.

Lyons trotted out with the team holding his clipboard yelling #$%+ toward the mound before, during, and after high fiveing Medchill. Just loud enough for Porlier to hear but just undercover enough to get away with it. You could clearly see him jawing on TV.

Oh and for anyone who enjoys the demise of the baseball team up the interstate, Tech leads kstate 12-6, bottom 9, if tech pulls if off, then tonight is to "officially eliminate them from the big 12 tournament.

If Texas loses tomorrow and we beat OSU and win 2 of 3 from A&M

Kansas State would have to lose 1 of their remaining games also if we win only 3 out of our last 4.

We were up in 206 and had a good time - until a couple fat, drunken fools sat down right behind us. They did leave though by the 7th inning, and I enjoyed watching the orange meltdown. Since I didn't see TV, what were they saying about the play in the 9th when the ag coach got tossed?

Lott's Bandana
5/10/2009, 10:22 AM
They said, "He doesn't have the luxury of instant replay. He's out there defending his team."

The announcers pointed out that the only thing hit on that pitch was the umpire's elbow.

Best OU can do now is finish 2nd in the regular season conference race. OSU has to win all 3 this coming weekend and Baylor has to lose all 3 of their games for the Aggies to move up to 8th place and just make the Big 12 tournament.
