Have they came out? I was thinking that it was the end of May or early June. I'm not a subscriber and just get them at Barnes and Noble or any place that carries them.

I got 45 views but no answers. I went to Athlons, but it says nothing about when it will be on the newstands.

Wish I could help you. I was hoping someone would know also. Just trying to steal info at your expense! :D

Do you mean like preseason poll magazines? I thought those came out throughout late June, July and August. As for magazines dedicated to college football, idk. The bookstore always has ones like Sooner Illustrated, and the similar ones for the pokes or the Big XII.

Generally into June anyway IIRC. If you want incisive stories, I don't know. But if you want predictions backed by more statistical analysis ( ie betting info) than you will probably absorb, the best out there for college football is Phil Steele.

yeah, I think Phil Steele is the best also.....aside from Phil pimping himself constantly. Which I can overlook.

I always buy Steele's. And usually the first rag I see. Gotta get my fix.

Yes, I mean Lindy's, Athlon, and Phil Steele. I will agree that Phil Steele has the best info, but it's not always the most entertaining mag to read. I just use them to pass the summer months.

Sorry to burst bubbles, but all of these over-hyped, overly-expensive, way-to-early craptastic magazines are ridiculous. Why waste your money?

Here's what I have so far.
Lindys has different release dates.
Lindy's SEC May 26
Lindy's National June 2
Lindy's Big 12 & Big 10 June 16
Athlons will be on the stands June 2.

hmmm. so why does SEC get to go first.....

Now, I think all the Lindy mags are the same. Just have different covers, (SEC, BIG 12)

but i may me wrong, so don't quote me.

Does $10 really put anyone in the hole here?

I mean, if this was an OSU fansite, I'd buy "overly expensive." :D

Oh, and FWIW... I buy them to have me a good two or three deep ready for every team we play early-on since I don't follow other teams until we get into the season and see who's who.

You're not bursting bubbles because no one appreciates that opinion.

Lindy's is published by a group in Birmingham, AL. SEC is always the first one they release.

Lindy's & Athlon's are both already out, on the east coast at least.

No worries from me on that one as I'm not exactly on the east coast. A couple of guys on another board I check out from time to time have them. Another dude on the same board has Steele's but he special ordered it. Cost him 25 smackers.

Duh, people... the SEC is so fast, they're always done with their homework first. :D

I've always felt that Phil Steele's is far away the most accurate and detailed of the preview football guides that come out each year, but it tends to hit the newstands a few weeks later than Athlons or Lindy's...Course, that only helps it to be even more accurate as it incorporates the latest injury and team news that the early birds often miss...
Regards,
Scooter
