Maybe Bob needs to call a team meeting and talk about paying tickets NOW and not wait until the NPD come after you.

Maybe we need to ship Jamelle back to Norman...He could keep the entire force to busy to write anybody currently on the team a ticket

I think those are low priority warrents- typically they would just send you a DL suspension notice in the mail... Please no need for a man hunt... Must not be too busy with all the other jazz that goes on in Norman.

If he'd have had insurance the NCAA would be investigating how he paid for it.

They have money to spend they get $500 stipends. They just choose to spend their money on "other things" instead of traffic tickets, I completely understand though.

Is this really true and if so, do most NCAA schools do this?

Is that stipend per month, per semester? I'm not saying paying tickets shouldn't be a priority, but $500 doesn't go far these days.

Thanks Jello. I had no idea that football players received any money from the school. Do you or anyone else know if players in other NCAA sports receive cash and if so, how much? I know that soccer players in NAIA in the early 90's didn't received any money and I don't think they do now, either.

I don't know that I'd focus on it being a sport thing -- think of it more as a scholarship thing.. Some of the top-notch academic scholarships carry stipends, as well. And, no, I can't think of any offhand. Hopefully one of you more motivated posters will back me up with the details. But, rather than thinking of it as a sports thing,, I'd just think of it as a schollie thing,, and a sign that football schollies are amongst the best scholarships around. Which they are.

I do know when it comes to academics, if you have more scholarships than expenses you receive the difference.

Off season people. The Norman peedly dee has taken the place of the OU peedly dee in the 70's. Norman cops followed me home when they pulled me over for drunk driving in 1976. I was so drunk if I fell over I would miss the ground. Times have changed!
