Well boys.....we gave away a game there.....the very things that concern me about this team came to fruition tonight in a super regional type atmosphere:

1. Hernandez error in the bottom of 10. Love the kid at the plate....but he has not performed in the field. I have contended for along time that his errors are going to cost us in a close game regardless of how much he mashes at the plate..........tonight was just such a night.

2. Pitching staff (JT Robinson/Duke) give up 3 walks, 1 HBP, 2 HR's, & 5 runs from the 8th through 10th innings. Duke has been salvageable in this role......but he has been a cardiac kid in the majority of his save opportunities. JT Robinson has been much more "miss" than "hit"...........well, he is either hitting batters or getting his pitches hit too often.

No shame in losing to Arkansas at there place....they are a very good team....BUT we had that game won.....and gave it away. Very frustrating.

jadubya
4/28/2009, 10:47 PM
collier....what made it worse was that he was up 0-2 in the count before throwing 4 straight balls. try to get him to chase @ 0-2; go for it at 1-2......

A couple of people on OUInsider watched the game. They said the final pitch was a strike and reached over the outer 1/3 of the plate. Wish those hillbillies would have had an internet feed to see the game on.

Just as ALL other sports programs, you could sign up and get the video feed....you could have done so at the ARK website.....one can't help it if you are either a) too stupid to look this up, or b) don't make enough money to pay the 9.99 for the fee.....and by the way, the pitch which pushed the winning run over was a curveball, outside by a good 6 inches....your pitcher had an 0-2 count and couldn't get it done, you have no one to blame but your own guy.

Lots of Sooner fans at the game which turned out to be as exciting as it gets for midweek. OU has a very solid team which should do very well in post-season. I wish LSU had released J.T. Wise to play for Arkansas...he was a monster at the plate last night.

Have heard OU and Arkansas are going to start playing every year with the game possibly being at the new Driller park in Tulsa. Should be a lot of fun.

Most programs can be seen FREE online at channelsurfing.net. Sorry if you guys haven't advanced that far yet, but I'm not paying $10 to watch one baseball game. Plus I use this nifty little invention you probably haven't heard of called the iphone most of the night to get my updates.

You're life must be pretty slow that you registered just to post that. Can't believe a hillbilly such as yourself even knows how to use the interwebs.

Is that an actual 6 inches, or just what your sister tells you six inches is? If it's the latter, I'm betting it was really no more than two and a half.

Some people will never understand, it's not where the ball ends up, but where the ball actually goes over the plate.

Some people will never understand, I totally agree....its where the ball crosses or doesn't cross the plate which actually determines a strike call or not...but one thing IS for certain and WE ALL KNOW THIS....after the pitch in question, Ben Tschepikow trotted oh, about 90 feet, stepped on home plate to score the 8th run, and sent OU and their best closer to the showers....which put the Sooners on the short end of the totem pole....read it and weep. One question, Sooner fans, your coach burned your top closer for at least part of the weekend (conference) series with KU....why ? One can only deduce that he wanted to beat Arkansas so bad he could taste it. So sorry. Oh, by the way, Dave Van Horn didn't burn a single weekend pitcher last night and we still beat you guys...the game, in reality, shouldn't have even been close as our pitching is light years ahead of OU's. Good Luck, I surely hope we see you guys in Omaha

I really though this trolls name would have been PenguinHog. ;)

I am slowly realizing that Arkansas fans are the Oklahoma State of the SEC, win a game and it seems like it's the end of the year. I should give OSU a little more credit though they actually own a national title in baseball.

Remember, when being reasonable and thinking logically fail, you can always play the "remember when we won the NC and you didn't" card. The past will never fail ya. Nice

Wow, here is a typical piggy fan. Ark has never won anything other than some track meets. He posts the "remember when we won bla bla bla" deal about us and ads that the past will never fail you...look at the name he is registered under I just wonder what he is referring to? Could it be about the only thing the piglets can hang a hat on. EVER
I went to the ball game in Fayetteville the other night. Nice ball park. But I swear if calling the hogs isn't the most gay cheer I have ever witnessed I don't know what is. My gosh they don't even do it with any enthusiasm, its like they know its gay so they sorta go through the motion. No wonder that pig is red. How embarrassing is ooo pig sooey while wiggling your fingers up in the air?

I am sure he didnt realize what he was getting himself into, when he registered on this board to talk trash about baseball, I will cut him some slack;) I was stationed in arky for about 4 years, and I never knew such a NC starved fan base could be so rabid!!

First of all, correct me if I'm wrong but with this game being on a tuesday, I'm pretty sure that Duke will be ready considering he will have over two days rest, and the reason he threw him was because it was a road game against a top 10 team. Oh and maybe the fact that Duke threw a total of 33 pitches this past weekend in waco had something to do with it also.

Yes you have a better pitching staff then we do, but you better thank your lucky stars every night before you go to bed, considering you are LAST in the sec in batting average, hits, runs scored, and rbi's. I mean really, act like you've been there before. Its called success, see when you have it every once and awhile, you learn how to handle your emotions, and not to give in to the urge to come over to another teams board and blow your load after winning one game in extra innings.

And I wouldn't get two ahead of yourself, putting yourself in omaha just yet. If you were actually a college baseball fan instead of a arkie fan who started watching because you heard the team was ranked, you would know that ANYTHING can happen in the regionals and super regionals, in fact if I remember right, ORU won a regional at your place not to long ago.

OH...Hogtied....you are the perfect illustration as to why I have come to root against the Hogs in baseball. Great program..incredible facilities...great coach.

Unfortunately, on many other college baseball boards....and now this one....soooo many Hawg fans just can't take winning 'well'! Is it because you aren't accustomed to it?

I can understand being enthusiastic about your program.....but attempt to show some class.

Well...then apparently your team isn't all that good if this game "shouldn't have been close".....and once you make it to Omaha.....feel free to call us. Apparently, that 2 and BBQ in 2004 is your evidence that "past won't fail ya".

Stay classy........woo pig.
