to never win a bowl game, if we lose the bowl game this year.

06 - BSU
07 - WV
08 - FLA
09 - ?

I would rather lose 4 straight BCS bowl games than:

1. Miss a bowl for 4 straight years

2. Lose 4 straight Meineke Car Care bowls (or equivalent)

3. Win 4 straight Meineke Car Care bowls (or equivalent)

4. See Texas go to those bowls instead of us

5. Wear any shade of orange

I'm just glad that we are competing at the top level of college football every year. I hate losing, but I do appreciate where we are as a program, so I won't complain that much.

And just for the record....I think this is the year. I was cautiously optimistic last year, but this year I just feel it. Something tells me that IF we can stay semi-injury free, we have a chance to do something special this year.

Oh. You mean recruiting class. I saw the thread title and was thinking "who the hell were the seniors in 2006?"

Unless memory fails...Bud's teams won 12 conference c'ships in a row.
(Or was it 8?...see what I mean?)

Let's just call it first to win 4 straight Big 12 titles and leave it at that.

They blew out Tech in the Sun Bowl in '93 (Spike & co. kept making the colossal brain fart of trying to cover Brady & Mickey w/ a 5'8" safety) 41-10. This was the year OU ran the table vs. the SWC (TCU, Texas, A&M, & Tech). In his his 6 years as HC, Gibbs only went to 3 bowls, but he won 2 of them (the 48-14 Gator Bowl win vs. UVa being the other).

ugh...that means Gibbs was 2-1 in Bowls compared to 4-6 for Stoops! Gag!

I sure am glad Stoops has been in bigger games against tougher opponents than Gibbs or I'd be pizzed! Plus Stoops has a higher percentage of getting into bowls at 100% to Gibbs' 50%

To be fair, 1992 was the only season they they missed a bowl due to team performance. His first 2 years they would've went to one had they not been on probation.

DT: Do you mean during the Stoops era?

There have been a few other classes to never win a bowl game. The 1995 freshmen never won (or even made it to) a bowl game. The 1994 and 96 frosh lost their only bowl game (94 Copper and 99 Independence Bowl, respectively).

Or I guess you could mean the first class to lose 4 straight bowl games (not "never win a bowl game").

There are a few other groups that never won a bowl game too (1963 frosh) and I'm sure quite a few others before Bud. Like the '38 frosh who lost to Tennessee in the 38 Orange Bowl and didn't make it back to one the next 3 years.
