Let's just pack it in right now and not get anyone hurt and look forward to the 2010 season.

Yea, it sounds we should not plan on winning any games come fall.:D

notre dame could have 400 combined starts - they will still suck; continue to be over-rated; beat akron, dayton, bowling green, and several other mid-level ohio schools; and (most importantly) they will be tested by navy.

How many losses have all those combined starts yielded for ND and UM?

Wall Street Journal has a sports section? Seriously?

Yeah, but he's right.

It's A predictor. It's just not THE ONLY predictor.

The team with better line play usually wins. That's not news.

experience =/= performance

O-line experienced or not, Sam Bradford will helicopter over all defenses into an awkward landing for an awesome photo to remember his next Heisman season by :D

We're always overrated yet we seem to take Home a Trophy of some sort every year.

If Sammy gets lucky and wins #2, does he get a second statue in Heisman park?

So, it doesn't matter how PRODUCTIVE an offensive line is, it only matters how many starts they have on the field...interesting. So the fact that the OL at ND has given up more sacks than any other in the history of ND football means nothing as long as they've been in the game.

Does that mean Clausen has taken more sacks that any other ND QB ever? hahahaha... makes me giggle

Ron Pawlus will lead Notre Dame back to glory, maybe even win 4 heismans!!

i seem to remember stats like these for 2004, i think

USC had ~30 starts for the OLine vs. ~100 for us

Yeah, but we suck in bowls

The horns may win in Dallas this year due to their O-line. But they won't win the big12 because as we saw last year, that game doesn't count :P

Here all along I thought it was how many points you scored more than the other team and not how many starts more your o-line has. Guess you learn something new everyday.

If Sammy gets lucky and wins #2, does he get a second statue in Heisman park?

F**k yes! :D

Statue one - Sammy upsidedown, spinning into Stillwater's endzone with OSU fans screaming "NOOOO" in the background.

Statue two - Sammy (I'm speaking in future tense, of course) flying 20 feet in the air through the uprights with the ball, for the first-ever touchdown/field goal, worth nine points (with an extra point attempt on the way).

Of course, even if that happened (WHICH IT WILL! YAY, SAMMY!), Heisman voters will probably never choose another two-time winner. They're probably all sick of the tOSU Griffin being a two-timer as is.

The real question is, will Sam be with or without his Super Sam cape in the second statue?

I agree with you that they will not give it back to Sam or anyone else a 2nd. time. Next year if it is close between the same 3 guys as last year, you can take it to the bank that Texas will get it.
