Oh, no. I'm not, but I read some reports that other internet users, including comcast may do this. I just fear that suddenreak would follow.

It concerns me, because our household has almost exclusively switched to online video for our TV shows because our antennae lacks strength.

the problem is that the average user isn't likely going to notice, so not enough people are going to bitch

they could have us by the balls soon though.

the problem is that with bittorrent and other methods, you can get by without paying for cable, just internet

Good thing our good friend Obama is highly against internet restriction, hopefully he'll do something about it. :/

If you're interested in some activist stuff, FreePress is trying to fight this

That story was from June of last year, they have implemented it in Beaumont and are metering here in Austin starting this month.

ARS Technica - Time Warner tries again, fails to justify caps and charges (http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/news/2009/04/time-warner-cable-to-press-stop-questioning-our-caps.ars)

Switch to U-verse. When ALL your tv is coming over the data line, your innernet streaming TV doesn't take up that much extra.

I only have the Earthlink/TWC thing for internet. I have Directv, no NFL Sunday Ticket or (at one time) MLB Extra Innings on the others.

Down goes Time Warner!

via Free Press: (http://www.freepress.net/node/56291)

WASHINGTON -- According to news reports, Time Warner Cable will shelve its excessive Internet penalty fees in all proposed test markets due to overwhelming opposition from consumers. The company is currently testing the pricing scheme in Beaumont, Texas, and had planned to launch trials Rochester, N.Y.; Austin and San Antonio, Texas; and Greensboro, N.C. More than 15,000 Free Press activists wrote Congress to protest the unfair price hikes.

Timothy Karr, campaign director of Free Press, issued the following statement:

"We're glad to see Time Warner Cable's price-gouging scheme collapse in the face of consumer opposition. Let this be a lesson to other Internet service providers looking to head down a similar path. Consumers are not going to stand idly by as companies try to squeeze their use of the Internet. This is a major victory, but the fight for a fast, open and affordable Internet is far from over."
