Texas' asterisked claim of the 2008 Big 12 championship despite not playing in the championship game raised the hackles of many Oklahoma fans.

But it turns out the Sooners have their own mark of contempt for the Longhorns prominently displayed on walls at the Everett Training Facility in Norman.

It was noticeable along the walls earlier this spring that several Sooner offensive linemen had received "Texas scores" for their work during preseason conditioning drills. Instead of numbers, a Longhorn sticker had been affixed where a score normally would have been found.

Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops called out that group before spring practice for their lackluster efforts.

According to Tulsa World beat writer John Hoover, those "Texas scores" signify a "less than zero" effort on the daily chart grading attendance, attitude, effort and result.

One player told Hoover that getting a "Texas" grade takes some doing.

The Red River Rivalry game on Oct. 17 can't get here fast enough, can it?

Take pride in that your BIG 12 Championship last year shares the same mark of every baseball player's record on the Mitchell Report.
