He wrote a letter to the widow of a slain Bridgeport police officer here and the force put on OU caps to honor the officer. Touching stuff.

I try to remember every time I think about the Sooners how lucky we are to not only have a coach that gets us wins and prestige and all that crap, but to have one that is truly, honestly a great guy. Those are few and far between even in regular day-to-day life.

White, 32, died Thursday when his parked patrol car was rear-ended by an SUV during a high-speed chase in Bridgeport.

WTF?

WTF?

Sergeant White was trying to get vehicles out of the path of an oncoming chase. The bad guy rammed the rear of his patrol car. Sergeant White was dead at the scene. Bad guy was charged with capital murder.

What Bob did is a very good thing.

EOW Sergeant Randy White.

We are truly honored to have him as part of our family, not because he's a great coach.

But because he's simply a great human being.

R.I.P. Sgt Randy White

but... but... but... Horn fans and aggy fans say he's a classless jerk! Are we talking about the EXACT same Bob Stoops, head Oklahoma football coach?

Stoops could just be your typical, arrogant, rich guy coaching football... but here, along with the numerous childrens' hospital works and other charities he makes a point of involving not only himself, but his family and players in just goes to show he could lose ten BCS games, but we still have the right guy for the job. Great represenative of the state and University of Oklahoma.

I loved the part where the other officers put on OU ball caps; now THAT was classy

Let's all tip our caps to Sgt. White. Maybe something could be done to honor his service at the OU-BYU game?

its not that im criticizing your idea but you do realize that if we honored every single OU fan whom Bob Stoops visited, wrote a letter to their widow, etc. we would probably have to honor hundreds of people at the BYU game

I have no doubt that we have one of the best coaches there is. Plus he is a class act all the way. We really are fortunate.

I just smile when I think of the press that Mack has been getting lately versus stories like this.

Makes me even prouder to be a Sooner.

Everyone neg the unknown azztard that said WTF instead of honoring the officer and OUr fine coach.

That said...

Stoops is the greatest coach working today. He's a great human being and a role model for everyone.

My prayers to this family and my praises to Bob.

Playing pranks on Moses. That was pretty funny.

WTF, as in "How could this have happened." (I didn't see the word "parked" and wrongfully assumed that Officer White's patrol car was in pursuit.)

Sheesh, a little thin-skinned perhaps?

Hope the guys Daughter gets taken care of if her Mom relapses. Wonder if she's going to be able to go to College if her Mom's condition was to worsen?

Scholarship?

Makes me proud. My prayers are with the family. Thanks Bob for being yourself. It's the little things that count and that's bigger than any game you'll ever win.
